Hey, I'm running a demo game this Friday, and may be short on time to make up pre-generated characters for the event. If anyone can help me out and stat up some 6th to 8th level characters (about 81,000 XP), with appropriate equipment, including magical items, it would really be appreciated. (The game is a Ravenloft adventure set in a haunted mansion - there's a variety of undead, but some other weird critters as well.)
Thanks!

Magic items, while cool, just aren't extremely important in C&C.
As for guidelines, I would make certain that at least a few characters have weapons available that can damage the opponents. There's no point in running the scenario if successful hits cause no damage due to missing some special element.
I've been running a C&C campaign for nearly a year and half now and there's been few magical items dropped into the PCs hands. Those that have been dropped into their hands have been ignored, forgotten or even glossed over at times, in lieu of just getting stuff done. Everybody has been pretty happy with the campaign so far.

Some magic items can be helpful, if the PCs can make or acquire them. And yes, magic weapons will be needed for certain undead monsters:
+1 for wraiths
+2 for vampires
Any magic weapon for full damage on shadows

I have a 6th level Elf Knight that I'm running in Treebore's game, that you're welcome to use or have a look at. Pretty good stats and some magic weapons. I'll post him sometime today.

Ah, I didn't think about the Ravenloft game. Which threads would have the pertinent PC stats? I'll just give everyone base magical gear rather than trying to calculate it out properly, that also ensures that PCs can thwack all undead with ease.
Also, thanks for the offer Rhu - looking forward to seeing your statted out elven knight!
