Brian Jacques is one cool dude/funny guy!!

Post by Deogolf »

Had the great experience of meeting Brian Jacques, the creator of the Redwall Series, last night at Border's Books in the Milwaukee Metro area. First he came out and talked to the crowd for about 1/2 hr and then signed copies of his new book Eulalia and his newly released graphic novel Redwall. He is a very entertaining and accomadating man! Had me in stitches during most of his talk! Talked a bit about writing, Redwall, and his growing up in England during WWII - a funny, funny man!

Here's our picture with him (my daughter, Rhianna, on the far right). He referred to my daughter as the "little pink McGonigel" (can't recall how it's actually spelled at the moment).

I've found my experiences with authors in general to be pretty positive. I meet a lot at the conventions I go to. ^_^

I read the first Redwall. Might actually get back to the series one day.

Considering there is nineteen books in the series now, I think you've got a bit of reading ahead of you!!

Ya, but it wouldn't take me more than a week to get through them. No hurry.

Man, I'm jealous John. Well done. Jacques is a fantastic author. I love the Redwall series. Your daughter is a cutie and one can tell that she must take after her mom!!
Sorry, I had to throw that out there.
Eulalia wot. Time for some hotroot soup. Let's tuck in, eh!

I hope she takes after her mom, I'd hate to see her with facial hair!!
I could use some hotroot soup to clear this nasty head cold I have!
Maybe we'll have a bit of tuck at the Winter Con or LGGCIV, eh?!

It's a great name! We had originally planned on using Rhiannon (Welsh by origin), but decided to go with a slight variation, Rhianna. Either way, you can't go wrong!
