Sorry if this question has been answered somewhere in all these FG threads, but does one have to buy the main FGII program to run the C&C ruleset add-on??

Thanks.

Thanks for the follow-up!

Also note that to run the C&C ruleset you do need the full version of the software. You do not have to buy the ruleset to play, only run. You can create characters "offline" with the full version, but not the lite version. With the lite version you have to be connected to a game to play, as the components of the ruleset get temporarily downloaded to the lite session to do this. After that the character "lives" on the hosting full session "server".

This is all covered at www.fantasygrounds.com, but I wanted to throw that out there for those of you who have not purchased the software yet. Any more question please post them and we'll try to answer them ASAP.
Cheers!

How easy is it to add house rules?

I've read some of the posts at FG about making your own rule sets (xml)... does the ruleset prevent it or is it just a matter of tweaking the code files?

Unless you create something "from scratch", you basically just tweak the existing ruleset. I won't lie and say it is easy, but it is not impossible either. It is just a question of learning the code and how it interacts with the FGII engine. There are many examples and tutorials over at www.fantasygrounds.com if you're interested. Having a programming background helps, but not required.

Fantasy Grounds is very customizable; if it weren't my company wouldn't be able to create these cool products.

Good morning! I wanted to chime in and make myself available for any questions you might have regarding the ruleset. I have worked on the C&C ruleset for the past 3 months and feel it is a true representation of the core books. As a fan of C&C, I'm way geeked to have a FGII port of the game and I look forward to running some FGII one-shots in the near future. If you are interested in checking out the ruleset, let me know and I will make sure to include you in future info related to the one-shot adventures.

Thanks.

Hey Rom, thanks for making yourself available for questions! I look forward to a full game of C&C with your C&C ruleset and FGII. I have some friends scattered across the U.S. right now and they are really stoked about this. I just need to get them bootcamped on winXP so they can use said program (they are both mac users, thankfully on the E6600 Intel Processor).

Well, I for one am interested in what you guys think. A lot of long, late hours went into making this between Rom and I, along with others.

Thanks for the links. So we're talking $45.00 to get this going. Not complaining about the price, but I like to have all the info before deciding .

I'll be watching for more reviews.

Yeah, the price for the GM can be a bit on the steep side, considering. But on the bright side, the players don't have to get as much...

Personally, I feel it's worth it. FG looks and runs great and adds a nice dynamic/element to the online game. You don't need it, and there's free stuff out there that does the job, but FG has done right by me so far.
