A CK in the Making

While sitting in my game room, my 4 year old daughter i sitting there with me. As she's sitting there she is looking at the large Greyhawk map (the one from Dungeon), hanging on the wall.

Suddenly she tells me, "Daddy, on the map your right there in the desert."

Looking up to she what she is talking about I respond "Oh yeah?"

Nodding she continues, begins telling me what I see and where my journey is taking me . Grinning I ask some questions and she keeps going. I eventually come leave the desert, go into a forest and come across a cave, as I'm exploring it I find a bear, and so the adventure continues to unfold.

Gotta say I love the imagination of a child.

But, did the bear have a pic-a-nic basket?

Sounds cool. I have no children not on my diet, so I'll just live vicariously through this one, until...

You do have a good one in the making, my daughter started off in a very similiar manner, except it was a map of Faerun, sitting on our gaming table. A bunch of Pixies were being very mean to my character.

She is 15 now and I think she is a great DM. My son is pretty good too.

That's awesome... My kids are 3 and 16 mo., I hope they're down with gaming like you guys' kids are when they're older.

Hey, at least my boys really dig dice... hehe.

My 14 year old daughter just completed her first session as DM. She took an adventure from the 1st edition "Lords of Darkness"...the mummy one. She did a very respectable job. She was a little too easy on us, but that will come with time. And I got to play for the first time in years.

Raise your children well.

My 6 year old is begging me to let him play, and he is very insistant on playing a Knight! He is really into the whole fantasy/imaginary world and he really likes the Forgotten Realm stories I have told him about.

He has me make up bed-time stories where he is a knight on various quests, now he wants to act them out in a RPG setting. Who am I to refuse.

So now, in addition to my 11 year old and his friends, I now have a six year old playing as well. Man, I love how easy the C&C Siege Engine system is to use.

Now if I could just get my wife into RPGing I'd be all set!

Dude, if you get that figured out, let me know. I wish my wife would play with me and the kids. I think she'd really enjoy it. So far no luck even getting her to try it.
