I like classes, levels, experience points, alignment.....even halflings and gnomes, though they are optional to my enjoyment! If I didn't like all that stuff, I'd be on some other forum about now.

The siege engine is great, as is C&C overall. I've got 200+ printed modules and PDFs for AD&D, classic D&D, and C&C. This is my meat & potatoes, and always will be. I like the flexibility of C&C to be a somewhat more free-form AD&D-style game. If I want truly exotic fare, it'll be LA.

Frankly, I'll buy pretty much anything the Trolls put out, because you guys are cool, and I glean something of use from every TLG product... But I'd be unlikely to actually play the game you describe, and would hate to see it slow down C&C production even a whit!

I'd be interested. I always enjoyed Harnmaster, which had no levels/classes/gnomes. It was just too complicated a system for my kids, so I went with CnC.

So something similiar done SIEGE-style would probably be a must-have for me.

I use Iron Gauntlets for a classless and level-free game. It has gnomes and halflings and incorporating a SIEGEngine type mechanic is a snap.

I do have one actual problem with level / class free systems.

Now, even though I do get a little wore out on the level /class system from time to time, when I go classless for my fantasy RPG's, it is never long before I go back to a good ol' level/class system.

Leveless/Classless fantasy is good for a short diversion, but when it comes to long term gaming? Give me my levels and classes back.
