Too late, a guy there gave me the original x-men to get started, so I naturally spent the whole game saying things like: "Jean!" "Scott!!!", etc.

Very, very fun game.

Youre stewed, then, chief. My roomate is a huge heroclix player. Last count he has spent about 3 grand on clix. R.I.P. slimykuotoan's budget!

While Breakdaddy speaks the truth, you CAN break the addiction. I too was knee deep in the Heroclix money pit to the enjoyment of Wizkids. I had probably spent somewhere between 1 to 1.5K on my collection when I hit my breaking point.

I ended up unloading my entire collection for 600. I still enjoy the game itself, but the endless release of sets, rule changes, and various player issues just turned me off. When it came down to it, I realized that I had much more enjoyment from my C&C games (or PNP in general) then i did my Heroclix games. Heroclix was fleeting, but C&C is ETERNAL!!!!!

I got sucked into the Heroclix quagmire for awhile as well. Seemed like the heroes I always wanted/liked (Nightcrawler, Vision) were always Uniques and super rare/expensive. I kicked the habit, got rid of most of my clix but I did keep the ones that could be used with D&D/C&C. I took them off of their clix bases, put them on regular 25mm bases. Now I've got some usable fantasy minis for my C&C Campaign.

Which ones were those? I personally have grabbed some Horror Clix figs for RPG monsters... but in Heroclix my brain must have stalled.. I would love to see your list..

I did mine out MageKnight when it went bye bye for Orcs and other guys, as well as monsters.. pity that all the good PC figs tended to be females..

I have been tempted to try HorrorClix but can't find anyone around who would play, and I have no room for them. It looked like it might be a fun game, though.

You can get them really cheap at places like Popular Collections. Often for .25 cents or so.

The Indy Clix range is great for several figs and you can find them DIRT cheap! (many have an asian/oriental theme, which is often hard to find the the regular minis market)

I've got alot more, just wanted to give you a wide selection of options.

Getting them off their bases is sometimes a chore. Usually if you put them in the freezer for a bit they will then be easier to snap off of the clix base. Occasionally more snaps off than you want to, but if you only paid .25 it's not so bad, and you can still usually fix your mistakes with a bit of super glue.

thanks for those ideas! I had been using some of the HeroCLix heros as victims in Horrorclix.. now I can look at em in new ways for rpging..
