I saw someplace where they were selling it for $59.99 - I can't remember exactly where, but it might be the same place that gave it a "5-star" review (link is on the Goodman website). That might be a little easier to take than the $100 price tag.

I lifted that bugger at the local game store - it is one heavy sucka!!

That is PDF only, I found the print version for $67 with shipping, which I broke down and bought. Just now, because you made me look. Evil man.

It was 50.00 in my local Game Shop, I think.

There is some wortyh things to say about Castle Whiterock. The $100.00 price tag is steep, but you get a lot (and I mean A LOT) of material for your cost. It's not the best $100.00 RPG product on the market, but it can probably get the most use. If you can find this badboy for under $70.00, it's a fine pickup.

I just knew somebody would pick up on that!!
It's just too big and hefty for that! Now, if I pretended to be

with it! Hmm....

D'oh! My bad. I guess I didn't look too closely on what the price tag was for. $67 is a pretty decent price. From what I understand, there is ALOT to it. Plenty of gaming for quite some time!

Sigh...six more months of school and then I can back into the swing of things. Going...thru...gaming...withdrawals...(thud)...

Thanks for the notice. This box has been stareing at me since before Thanksgiving and I can't open it till after Christmas. I imagine I'll be running it after the new year. We did the Sinister Secret of Castle Whiterock a while back. TPK.

Have to admit, I'm tempted to take the maps and make my own Castle Whiterock.

Dude, I've swiped training maps from MapReading and LandNav class and made stuff on them.

I took a look at this set at Gen Con. It was impressive. Goodman Games has done it again with another high quality boxed set. I'm planning on picking up a copy in the near future.

You know... it didn't occur to me till now when I saw a picture spread of the books in the set (I haven't seen an open box of it yet).

A nice little tribute to the Mentzer Sets and their colors:

That's just cool!

That is why Goodman has become the only other gaming company besides TLG to get my money lately. I love their C&C stuff and even though the bulk of the DCC's are 3.x they have their fingers on the pulse of what classic is and I can't help but support them. My hope is that after 4e hits they continue with that tradition but put more effort into their C&C line.

Wow, I never noticed the Mentzer connection to Castle Whiterock before. That is pretty swanky. Now iof there was only a Castle Whiterock box set that was all converted the Basic D&D... that'd be sweet as hell.

Joe Goodman has said pretty recently that we can expect more C&C modules next year. Several people keep asking over there.

What's the deal with Goodman games anyways? They have no products listed for future releases like January, Feb, etc. Is Goodman currently waiting for the 4E OGL?

I don;t often get over to their forums, has there been any word on what their plans are?

Like many publishers, I bet they are waiting to see what d20.666 looks like, before making any commitment. They have other things they do, of course, like C&C conversions but I doubt that is enough to sustain them as a business.

That's probably true, but I have enjoyed the Judges Guild update modules so far. I hope they can put out another JG mod in the v3.5 ruleset before the switchover.

Well, their last two DCCs were mongosso. One is an extended length module and the other was a box set.

Their also working on some new system, but are keeping pretty mum about it.

Im sure that like many other D20 publishers, they are waiting on some word from Wizards about the state of the 4e OGL and their ability to publish things for the system. It sucks pretty hard to be a smaller D20 publisher at the moment, I suspect.

Like that Dungeoneer RPG that never saw the light of day... which was announced like 3 years ago I think.

All I heard was that it was not going to be Dungeoneer. I actually liked their Etherscope game. Not enough to take the place in my limited game time at the moment. But it seems a likely suspect for a future game.
