Now every member needs to go out and find two people to get into the game and have them buy one book each direct from the site. ^_^

So this whole "Troll Lord Games" thing was a front for a pyramid scheme, eh? We're on to you, Thorne.

Naw, if I was doing Amway, Id suggest at least 3 people. Can't get to diamond status without that many.

Still, how many of those only tried C&C and then decided to go with something else?

There may indeed have been a few...but if so, it sure ain't been from this corner. I have happily sung Troll Lord Games' praises to a multitude of peoples, both in my personal and work life. As I told Steven the last time I made a phone order to Little Rock, my brothers and I had basically given up on the whole gaming situation after the D&D 3.5 debacle that I've detailed in previous posts. Jungger sent up a last call for alternatives on one of the WotC boards - hand coming out of the water for the third and last time, bubble reaching the surface and popping with the word "HELP" coming out - and Rigon, bless him, mentioned this game and site.

I honestly believe that Troll Lords - and C&C in specific - is a template for what RPG companies are going to have to become in order to survive and flourish over the next several decades. The era of the huge, lumbering, schizophrenic, brontosaurus-like gaming corporation (TSR '85-'97, and WotC, quite honestly) is over; the future favors the smaller, responsive, personalized company that actually listens to its customers and keeps faith by making the barrier between consumer and management as flexible and permeable as possible. This breeds a trait that the bigger companies have no understanding or comprehension of: LOYALTY. If the CKG had been as delayed as it has been as a Wizards product, the howls would have shook the heavens; here, there is the overt understanding that the Chenaults et al are doing their damnedest to move things forward, however long it might take. Why? Because they choose to communicate with us like human beings instead of indulging in corporate bullspeak to cover their tracks.

I have gone on way longer than I intended - and have to get ready for the Sign Language class; what, like you think I actually have my weekends off or something? - but will check in later. All best.

Well, it's easy to get more users on these boards then the old ones, plus TLG has penetrated the market a bit more then 3+ years ago. Still, good to see more users almost every day!

Here are a couple of interesting follow on stats

there are 685 users who have fewer than 50 posts

there are 524 registered users who have fewer than 10 posts

there are 260 users with no posts

Here's my take. There is a very vocal minority who frequents this place, but a huge, vast, expansive population who has only once, infrequently or not at all.

So we all are part of a reality distortion field. What we know is not what the "average" C&C'er does, because they don't come here (for the most part, and chronic lurkers excepted) so anyone who claims that certain information is self-evident, because it's littered all over the TLG forums, (like the ckg being an optional book) remember, there are only 158 of the 848 who would be considered "regulars" based on post count.

now... when was the last time these 848 logged in. more interesting info... stats are great
Cheers,

J.

So, you could take roughly 62% of the board membership, total all of their posts and STILL not equal the post count of Treebore.

Treebore is a prolific type of poster, what can you say. I post all the time and still can't catch up with that dude. This is gratuitous post no. 702. The rest of my posts I MIGHT have said something worth saying.

What can I say, I always have a thought or opinion about pretty much anything. Come over to my house and I'll talk with you about anything, cars, news, religion, raising kids, gaming, board games, marriage, work, everything.

Just in the fact that there are clearly a few people with too much time on their hands...

LOL! I am glad to still be in the top 50 (at #37 currently with 318) even with my "hiatus not by choice".

In the CKG there should be a note saying: ..not by choice is known as forshadowing because there is always a story to be told when that combination of words are linked together.

Sad that someone would do that. I think the person that does this should be spanked by elf chicks.
