Society Call Out

OK, so I've had an idea --

1) We need a Society Wiki. I don't have the time to do this, so can someone help?

2) We need Society members to be able to access said Wiki for editing purposes.

3) We need Society members to want to help.

4) We, as a Society, build a game world, cross-referenced and indexed all on the C&CS Wiki.

Obviously this will have to be approved by Steve, but I know this is something that's been languishing for a while.

So, opinions? Fears? Hopes?

I am for it. I would be willing to help out. I can't set up a wiki, but I would be willing to input stuff.

What is the society? C&C already has a game world, doesn't it?

The idea for the society game world has had a few ideas, including a world based on the actual members and their listing in the society rolls. This would be more effective once a wiki was up and running.

As always, I'd be willing to edit the wiki, but setting them up is not my forte. Dang, I'm having massive problems with my own site and I constantly need help on that.

As others have said, I'd be willing to help input info, but I have no idea on how to set up a wiki.

setting up a wiki is a snap, but I'm not a member of the society, so I guess i don't qualify
Always wanted to wait until after something started happening with it. I've been around long enough now to see 4 or 5 attempts at a revival flounder.

Cheers,

J.

I make a great weekly email newsletter (Color, pictures and all) at my job. I would be more than happy to make a quality e-mail newsletter for the Society.

That would be sweet!

I have received an offer for help with the Wiki. However, this will require expenditure of money, which I do not have, and the Society is free, so dues are never an option. That said: if someone wished to donate, it may be possible.

I would like to find a solution that does not involve a cost, if possible.

I'd like you to use the existing C&C wiki. It doesn't get enough love as it is. I'm the only one who's added stuff there at all since I joined the management team. It could certainly use the cross-pollination with the C&C Society to become a stronger tool and hopefully capture a larger user base for fan-made C&C stuff.

If you want a wiki on a non-commercial server, a private one, you could download the C&C wiki pages and just roll that across to the new one, or we could delete the existing C&C wiki and set up the new combined one. I think it'd be better to have one C&C/C&C Society wiki rather than two.
