Great Gaming Book!

Post by Deogolf »

Thought you guys might be interested in this - mostly since we're all gamers. John Bobek (part of the original Castles & Crusades group with Gary Gygax, Jeff Perrin, Rob Kuntz, etc) has written a pretty cool book of different war games covering alot of different genres. Check it out here -

A great idea for Christmas, methinks!!

Damn it... that looks too cool to pass up. I'm trying to stop myself from spending more money!

Actually, this is really cool. Does anybody have it or looked through it? I'd be curious for what else is in there.

Wow, neat. I'll add it to the already saddled list of must-gets.

Very interesting background/bio of John. I didn't know that much about him at all.

I saw some of the book last summer when John was at LGCIII. From what I can remember, it covers alot different eras - Napoleonic, WWII, etc. He sent me a section on running smaller Civil War battles which was pretty neat and easy to follow. He also demo'd a couple quick games - one was a WWI dogfight (the other escapes me at the moment ). A bit of something for everyone.

Now, to "hint" this to my wife (or ask Santa )!!

Now this is cool! I am an old miniature wargamer myself from way back.

Must drop hints to my wife and kids.
