101 reasons I love roleplaying games...

Post by slimykuotoan »

I'l start:

1) When I'm in D&D land, instead of compromising with someone, I can just pull out my sword and decapitate them...
For crying out loud, do what you can with the attributes the dice have given you. This is what separates the men from the boys... -Kayolan

2) When you kill a man, you're a murderer. Kill many, and you're a conqueror. Kill them all, and, ooooo, you're a God.

3) I can play a slutty, buxom female elf and still feel secure in my manhood.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I have to quote an oldie but goodie from a circa 2003 EN World thread regarding comparisons between real life and a player character's life:

14) "In (an RPG), I can swing an axe all day. In real life, I have to take a break."

20.) I never have to take a dump.

21.) Even though I've been camping in the woods for weeks in winter with minimal gear, food and shelter I always feel great.

22.) I'll almost certainly not die from infection.

Unless I'm playing Hrnworld, in which case I'll always smell like I have to take a dump if I haven't already died from exposure and/or infection.

24) I like the smack-talking and other funny things people say a lot when they are gaming.

25) It's a good excuse to buy junk food.
