Just curious ~ do any of you play a musical instrument?

Oh, my daughter plays piano and trumpet and my wife plays piano.

I play acoustic, electric & 12 string guitar as well as electric bass.

I've played bass guitar before, but mostly my musical stuff is in the writing of songs, since I prefer it.

I can play the alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones. I own an alto as well as a clarinet, my first instrument. I'm a fair percussionist (not drummer!) and I recently acquired a bass guitar but need an amp to play it. I can also play piano with my right hand only, as I cannot yet read bass clef. Once I get some free time (yeah right!), I'll get cracking on playing bass.

My air guitar and Guitar Hero skills are fair to middlin'.

Bass guitar here. I played stand up base and violin in school. I pick up a bass from time to time and belt out some Blue Oyster Cult, Megadeth, Metallica or Black Sabbath.

Here's me and my bass, picture taken last year. Except for a six year hiatus in the early 80s, I was more or less constantly playing in bands during the last 30 years.

I was a guitarist for many years, and played heavy metal -surprise, surpise.

I started as lead, but then faded into rhythm positions.

My bands were: Radion, Juiblex, Cross (Christian Metal Band), Sacrifice, Revenant, and Symbolic Faythe.

Alas, I was only in one project that sold stuff and made money.

Now I plan to take up the violin or string bass...so I can play some cool, mournful stuff.

I sing, play: harmonica (used to) Bb Clarinet, Sopnino,Sop,Alt,Ten, Bass Recorder (sort of, I'm learning them right now) a little piano/keyboards, ocarina, Kazoo, Tin Whistle, Quena (a little) and Shakuhachi (a bit, still self-learning that one, too.)

Oh, and Tenor and Bari Saxophone.

I played jazz trombone for many years, but it's fallen away as professional life intervened. I dabble at piano.

A good friend is trying to get me to take up bass guitar so we can ROCK! I am very tempted.

Electric Guitar. Numerous heavy metal garage bands in the 80's and then a serious gig in a Christian Rock group back in the early 90's. I remember the ponytail and the sports coat witht he sleeves pushed up fondly.

Everybody else in the band was a much better musician than me. The lead singer still writes songs in Nashville and the drummer was in Keith Urban's band for a few years (bald drummer in the videos) and our keyboard player still runs sound for Keith. I had to get a signed photo for my wife.

Nowadays I try to liven up the church's praise band.

Singer, here. I'm not the best, but I know my limits and am good at what I do.

I am terrible at guitar. No, really - worse than the worst highschool student in that crappy punk band.

I used to play trumpet, but have forgotten most of what I knew. I have a dulcimer I strum from time-to-time, but make no pretense of knowing how to really play the thing.

I also know how to work various tone and noise generators, but you were asking about "music."

One of my best gaming groups was made up of almost nothing but musicians.

I can't even play a kazoo. The gods of music sure didn't look upon me.

I play the harmonica, keyboard/piano, a little guitar, sax, and the recorder.

Used to be in a band back in the late 70s (yes I'm old).

I've been playing guitar for about 20 years. It waxes and wans, but I always come back.

I'm no professional, but I do enjoy it immensely.
