I don't think Mr. Buffy the Vampire Slayer will allow himself to be demeaned down to a budget to bring the series back to an equitable cost for a production studio.

And the fact that it beat out Star Wars is just wrong man, just plain wrong.

*chuckles* Well, from the man himself, it seems to be entirely the opposite case. The entire cast and crew are willing to continue the series and movies if they can find a place willing to air em.

And with sucjh a dedicated fan base then it would be an instant money maker - unless cost would be ridiculously prohibitive.

What would make cost ridiculously prohibitive?

Salaries & Effects.

Hey just my opinion. And I do not mean to hijack the thread.

Ast to SC series - I only saw last night's episode - clearly i had missed something but was able to pick it up. I do not think this is going to have large scale appeall though and that, as Firefly before it, is what will make it die.

I didn't say it wasn't good - nor that it wasn't very popular just that it needed a much broader base.

Never underestimate the impact of a writers strike. SCC doesn't have much competition other than reality television right now. If you want scripted TV, it's a seller's market. This is born out by the massive ratings the pilot received. I don't know if episode 2 kept the momentum going.

Interesting point.

I've heard some things about the Bionic Women with regard to the writer's strike and the fact that it hurt the show. The ratings drop happened but was it the result of the strike or were those episodes already written?

I liked the Bionic Women mostly but didn't care for the dorky love interest and their relationship.

And with that in mind, I am concerned about T:SCC and how well it will endure going forward.

I do think that T:SCC is a way better show and I hope it will continue.

The fact that it's FOX may help it as well.

Before Bionic Women, I can't remember watching any TV serious since whichever one started later . . . Frazier, Friends or Seinfeld.

Oh maybe Monk. I think that came after.

Ahh the writers strike time to make sure the survival kit is together:

DVD's of favorite shows and movies? Check.

Gamecube? Check

C&C stuff, paper, pencils and dice? Check

Internet connection? Obviously.

Dermal Necrosis disease for all reality TV show participants, sponsors and creators? Working on it.

Yep, I'm set.

If the writer's strike doesn't end by like, late April of very early May, there will be little in the way of new TV next September. If that's the case, super expensive shows like T:SCC might just fizzle out because actors don't want to stick around a show that can't get made.

I just can't wait until Dexter. That is TV at its best... minus the sex of course .

I hope that Micheal C Hall gets his best TV actors award.

okay, on topic now, I was seriously hoping for the series to be immediatly gripping ...etc, but I just found that it was, good, but not gripping(unlike Dexter ).

Hopefully the writers strike will end soon, so that there may be a chance it can improve to a 'gripping' show reasonably soon, I'm just lucky that Dexter has enough back up script to start their season this Feburary.

Thanks!

They did and I watched it last night, but the Fox/Cisco streaming left much to be desired - slow and choppy video. Could have been tons of peeps overloading the site watch to the episode.

Glad I caught the beginning that I missed.

The only other Firefly alumni I've seen doing stuff after the series was Jayne (Adam Baldwin) as that spy dude in some show with a everyman subliminally holding onto Big Secrets, and Zoey (Gina Torres) who was doing voices for animated shows like Justice League Unlimited (as voice of Vixen) which is almost a shame because she was the cutest actress on Firefly.

Nathan Fillion (Capt. Reynolds) has also been all over the place, most notably on "Desperate Housewives", I believe. He was in "Drive" last year before it got cancelled.

I'll give some more love for Chuck. great show!

I liked TTSCC pretty well, although I'm not sure exactly how they'll keep my interest beyond four or five episodes. But I'm hoping they will.

I also love me some "The Unit". Great military drama, peeps!

It's nice to see that Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles is setting up some complex situatiions within the show. As I mentioned earlier, for this show to last it's got to push the envelope of standard TV, and certainly go beyond the tiring scope of the films. The 3rd episode did just that. A terminator in high school trying to adapt, and something to due with teen suicide (still haven't figured out that story line yet) was presented. These things were not what I expected, so I was pleasently surprised.

It seems like this show is not going to "reset" every episode, and will continue with multi-episode story arcs. That is a good thing, though I'm still not convinced that the acting is very good in this show yet. Then again, not many TV programs start out very good in the first 3 epsiodes anyways. I think Summer Glau is starting to "get" her part a little more as her acting for this role has improved, if just slightly.

Indeed. And what an interesting challenge for an actor, as the cyborg itself is learning and improving to be more "human". So far, so good!!

I was shocked when the girl actually jumped , no happy TV ending. The show is well written so far . I think Glau is right on , hell she played apretty emotionless character in Serenity.

Indeed, best episode of the series so far. I'm liking the fact that the writers are obviously building (albeit slowly) depth to the show. I'm liking it.

This has been a real surprise for me. I couldn't imagine how they were going to pull off a series, and I was afraid they would focus too much on the whole school thing (Terminator 90210 anyone?). But so far this has been good - and I agree last night's episode was excellent. I usually try to get stuff done while I watch since the kids are finally in bed, but last night I was glued. Hope they can keep the momentum going.

Another excellent episode! Brilliant really.

I'm feeling the serious Terminator love from these producers/writers. It's clear they did their homework and really understood the movies and how to then make a TV show. The continuity and connection to the movies seems to be working well so far.

Well done!

Okay, first, Julian, T2 was beyond awesome.

Second, I like the show a lot, but I'm very confused by the writers' portrayal of Cameron's social skills. In the pilot, she blends in so well that John can't sense there is anything different about her. Ever since, she has been stiff and slightly off-putting.
