It's my fault. I've been updating the forums. I'm trying to make them appear more related to the theme of the main page.

Just FYI

Man, the new forum changes make it look like the wood panelling from the side of my 1978 station wagon.

For a moment I couldn't tell if I was on C&C MBs or Canonfire.

It probably won't stay this way. I'm just trying to find the best fit. The old scheme wasn't really it.

Ok, I'm done monkeying with the styles. Thanks for your patience.

If you prefer the old style, open your profile and choose DAJ_glass for the style. I have it set so users can override the default style with whatever they choose.

It freaked me out, because I was in the middle of a lengthy post when it changed. I hit "Submit" and the entire world a-splode.

I'll see what I can find. There are all sorts of possibilities. Treebore will be the first target.

I feel pretty dense (or colorblind) - other than the new post-bar under one's icon, what has changed?

If your personal profile has a board style specified, then it will override the default style of the board. If you want to see what I've done to the board as a whole, you'll need to go in and turn that off.

Hmm.. I might check that out then. I like 'dark' styles myself.

It is just going to encourage squabs like myself to post more to get that meter at least to the halfway mark. I look like I have better things to do now!

The trick is knowing when to stop. Treebore is already over the line!

For anyone curious, the default style in use is "subBlack".

Heh, there is a message board out there (heck, there are probably tons) that have a system that keeps track of posts, but in a manner that gives your "avatar/profile" Hit Points, Magic Points, medals, etc. This messageboard even has sub categories where your posts let you accumulate gold pieces to purchase "things" for your account. I'm not joking, you can but equipment for your avatar/profile, sell equipment and the like to other posters. It' is actually quite awesome.

Here's the site. It's a Lone Wolf fansite.

That's fantastic.

As an aside, I had no idea Mongoose was reprinting all of the Lone Wolf books, in expanded versions. That's pretty awesome.

I have used those types of messageboards for The Reincarnation guilds. Sadly, the game was much better when it was Archmage.

I like the board theme/color very much in the evenings, as I do the one at Lejendary.

But in the day, it's tough to read/see, so it's good to know I can change it at will.

I put a couple of torches into the wall sconces, so I can make my way to the bar for a ale.

Heh, heh. That's the one I manually set it to after I noticed this thread; until then it was in classic mode and no changes actually registered.

I tried out all the themes a little while ago, as I do prefer dark or brown themes overall, but, the old default white with blue trim is much more user friendly. Easier to see the various buttons and notifiers and such.

Some of the others I didn't even try past the front page, though, because they had the Shoutbox right on top. I never use those, and in fact find them rather annoying.

I don't know if I like it. It reminds me of the old EZBoard forums. I usually go with Cobalt 2.0.
