Dunjini or Campaign Cartographer 3

Post by nwelte1 »

I am looking at buying a mapping program. What I want is a program that I can use to map out floor plans, dungeons and possible small wilderness/outside areas. What is better for what I want Dunjini or CC3? I am not interested in buying extra expansion like the dungeon designer addon. So if that is necessary to map out simple dungeons then I guess I will go with Dunjini. Does Dundjini only do floor plans or can it do landscapes like woods, plains, mountains?

You can use it for some landscaping too. At worst, you can import a tile that you've designed yourself for that purpose. I guess it depends on the detailing you want... I haven't really used the program for anything other than dungeons and rooms and it's been a while since I've loaded it up.

Anyone else want to chime in on this?

I use CC3 extensively and used CC since CC2. It is quick and can create some really nice maps quickly. But the learning curve is quite high.

It doesnt do dungeons that well. For that I just simply go to this website:
http://www.aarg.net/~minam/dungeon.cgi

Generate a dungeon and cut out what I want.

But if having stuff look pretty is what you want go with CC3.

I like them both. Dunjinni is easier to use and you can use all the stuff in CC3 from inside Dunjinni.
