Announcing a very limited and very special supplement to the Adventurer TM Card Game

February 11, 2008 Shadowcircle Press announced the Guest Designer Card series for the fast growing Adventurer TM Card Game. Each card in this series is designed by a notable game designer and adds a new element to the already riveting game. Each illustrated card will be sold by itself, and quantities are limited.

The series launches with cards from notable game designers James M. Ward, Chris Clark, and the legendary creator of Dungeons and Dragons, Gary Gygax.

Guest Designers are encouraged to create an exciting new Adventurer card, like an obstacle, trap, event, or hero, that will add a greater immersion and experience to the Adventurer TM Card Game world.

It is our great honor to announce that the first card in the Guest Designer Card series to be released will be done by none other than the legendary Gary Gygax himself. His powerful new card Shade the Trickster will be released on February 15th. For more details and to pre-order as well as get a sneak peek at the new card visit www.ADVENTURERGAME.com.

New rules and fun variants can be found at www.ADVENTURERGAME.com.

Very Cool. I just got my adventurer deck the other day, and I have to say it is great fun.

It's one of those games that's still fun to play but you don't have to be putting all of your brain into to enjoy it, I catagorize it into the relaxing/fun game for a rainy afternoon catagory.

I might be biased, but I think its money well spent.
You forgot mention which friend referred you so that they can get the Refer A Friend Card, The Crown of the Immortals. But thats okay as long as any person you refer does not forget to mention you.
Thanks for the support. I hope you enjoy it. I do recommend that you play a few games without the Designer Cards first so that you get a good feel for the foundation of the game.

Someone here had better refer me, as I knew nothing of such a card. Damnit. Always missing out on the good stuff.

But, seriously, how much is it to just get that card? The only people I know (in person) that would buy the game would always be playing it with me... so, I have no way to refer anyone.

Is Troll Lord's going to start carrying this game? Its listed as a card game here, but its not available to buy in the store.

It seemed like they were going too, but perhaps they have too much now that they are carrying in their product line.

But KR will pack and ship very quickly if you order from his site.

Alright, we'll do a 1 time deal, because the Refer a Friend thingy is new and I havent really started posting about it. Since both of you just ordered the game we will all assume that Porkuslime and Serleran referred each other.

So both fo you are going to get the Crown of the Immortals.

But please feel free to start spreading the word about the Refer a Friend program so that nobody else misses out.

Well, I got the first part of my order (with two cards in it I didn't expect - I have a question about one of them, by the way) and th game looks cool. I assume I've not gotten the designer cards because they're not available yet (not all of them, anyway, and I bought all three)... also, no Immortal card thingy, but that might be because everything was packaged before I knew I might get one.
Anyway... is Lalliard supposed to be bigger than the other cards? Dude is marked. I like!

[Edit]

Oops. I just saw that card is a "hero" and is likely not shuffled in with the rest of the cards. Sorry about that.

Serleran,

You are right about the Designer cards and the Refer a Friend card.

The two extra cards are prototype cards that we are giving away as a collectable until supplies run out. (they should have square corners.)

Ah.. that answers my question about those 2 bonus cards in my box as well, as the Immortals card. So, I assume I will be getting a second mailing from KRB some time in the near future ..

The 2 cards in my box are NOT usable with the game, correct? They are nifty bits of bonus so I can yammer to my kids about me having "Original cards from the early editions" in the future when Adventurer is the de-facto standard of games..

Woohooo! Got my designer cards. They look great. And the abilities/features should add some fun to the game for sure.

Well done!!

I play with my 10, 8 and 6 year old sons. I have no problem "exposing" them to the cards.
Kerry posted a sample pic with a bunch of the cards. Let me find it...

*rummage... rummage*

Here you go:

If you want to drop my email in the refer-a-friend field so I can get the cool referral card I'd be eternally greatful.

Martin,

We really did try to make them kid friendly, bright colors, cartoony. Nothing gory/rude. The pic Stuie posted (Thanks, Stuie) gives a perfect representation of the look of the art, though the read cards look alot better than that thumbnail. I hope the art passes the wife's critique. If not let me know so in the future expansions I can clean it up even more.

Oh, and help Stuie out, use him as a referral so that he gets a free card. You can never have enough Crowns of the Immortals.

OK, got my cards. They look great. And my nephew and I had a chance to use them. He chose Shade (naturally) and managed to get the magic crown card as well. Add some holy items and + weapons and he was pretty much unbeatable. A few times he didn't even switch out rolls and just packed his bonuses to beat the monster!!

I got some good cards as well including the Blunderbuss, but didn't get a chance to use it.

He fell in Warden's Pool of Darkness and lost his armor.

Surprisingly, I won the game only because I happen to get to the Count.

And isn't it odd that the Count almost always seems to appear at the end of the deck?? At least for me anyway, seems like 9 times out of 10.
