Need a Good Module For a Con

Post by Catweazle »

I hope to run a Castles & Crusades game session at UK GamesExpo in Brum this year, and was wondering if any of the currently published or soon-to-be published modules lend themselves to one-session con play.

Failing that, I'm always open for new adventure ideas!

4E is premiering there, and I reckon we need to provide gamers with a little alternative.

The free module Rising Knight would be good as would any of the short adventures in the Crusader magazine (you could string several together).

It really depends on how long you want a session to go.

Well, last year's session were three hours plus. The Crusade hasn't gotten off to the flying start I'd hoped for this side of the pond, although one of my FLGSs does carry a small amount of TLG gear. I'll have a look at those; thanks.

What I don't want, though, is to run a game for people who already play and enjoy C&C and who may have already played 'em, but that's a risk I'll just have to take!

See if you can find the conversion of Beacon At Enon Tor. If you can't shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send it to you.

Beacon at Enon Tor is a good, short, action-packed, low-level, C&C adventure. Easy to mod, and classic CON play.

The Beacon at Enon Tor is a little overrated, if you ask me. It could definitely be run in a one-shot gaming convention slot, though.

It's good for new players but was converted before M&T came about. So there are some adjustements needed but that can be done on the fly.

Well Beacon is certainly not deep in anyway. I like it because it fits extremely easily into any campaign you throw it into and makes for a good one-shot adventure that can showcase the C&C rules for the most part.

I would Yggsburgh. Really, I would. There is so much material in there, that, well... yeah.

That's a good idea. There are plenty of good one-shot ideas in the EASTMARK FOLIO, as well as in the CZ1 Yggsburgh book. Some of the mini adventures in CZ1 Yggsburgh could easily be made into longer 3-4 hour con mods.

Good call.
