Hi guys,

I don't want to speak out of place here, but I'm not so sure that all of the events that have been submitted to Gen Con Admin have been approved or listed in the official event database, yet.

Keep in mind that the event submission and approval process changed this year, with GC Admin reviewing and approving the submissions (and then assigning their actual, physical location for the event slot) in three 'flights' or cycles, based upon sumission date. The first event submission cycle was Feb 3 Feb 25. The second event submission cycle was Feb 26 March 17. The third event submission cycle was March 18 March 31.

According to the event submission information sent out in late January to prior year DM's & GM's and event sponsors, GC Admin was going to review, consider, approve (or reject) and assign the location for all events submitted in the first cycle before beginning on the second and third flights. So, if a particular event wasn't sumitted early, it is possible that it is still awaiting consideration and approval by GC Admin.

Also bear in mind that, at least in previous years, there was a surge in the number of events submitted right before the end of the event submission period. So much so that a lot of events didn't get approved until right before the event registration went live. This may be somewhat dampened this year, with the changes to the process, but I would expect that there were a lot of events submitted in the third submission cycle.

All of which is to say that it is possible that there still could be some official C&C events at Gen Con this year that haven't made it into the event database yet. It really depends upon whether any events were submitted for consideration, and whether or when GC approves the events for the convention.

And with all of that in mind, don't forget that Event Registration begins April 20.

Offical start times: 9:00 AM PDT for True Dungeon, 1:00 PM PDT for all other events.

Agree with what you are saying Tacojohn, I think what people were slightly worried about is no one posted in here saying that they had submitted. It'll be fine though I'm sure.

FYI...I am adding a Wednesday Night pick-up game to my plans. I'll keep everyone posted as soon as Derek Guder announces where the KFG Wednesday gaming will be held this year.

Wednesday Morning and Wednesday Night...we got you covered to get you in a C&C mood. Once we get Troll Lord's Booth Number we'll be sure to pass it out to everyone who demos the game Wednesday.

Sorry - I didn't read the previous posts as meaning that. I gues the bit about "I just checked the event listing and there's nothing" kind of through me off.

Gen Con Wednesday Night

Post by Hawkwinter »

Okay...I've been petitioned on the GenCon forums to add a Wednesday Night C&C game to my 9:00AM game. Currently, I have 8 players interested in the evening game. I would rather this was 6 players, so there is the possibility that I may see if I can run a C&C all-nighter Wednesday Night.

Would anyone here be interested in playing in that game? Anyone like to run another game Wed. Night as well as mine?

Any chance of getting in on this game as well?

However, if there are no spots available I would be willing to run a game as well.

I have currently submitted a 6 hour block for Wednesday night, my plan is to run two 3 hour games of 6 people each.

Derek has cautiously granted me space, but we'll see. Right now I have some open spots for the second game.

Yes, Rhone I can find a spot for you and your 3 friends if you are interested.

I would be interested. I have my registration paid, but have made no particular game reservations yet.

The wife and I are contemplating if we can/want to go this year or not.

We are kinda on the fence at this point. I've had a blast in the past but

wondering what cool games are coming out to see/buy at Gen Con.

Wednesday Night games approved

Post by Hawkwinter »

Okay...I now have 2 wednesday night games scheduled for play at GenCon, 13 Aug 08.

The system IDs are

RPG01892: Wed 7PM-10PM

RPG01917: Wed 10PM-1AM

The location (One of the connected Hotels) has not yet been nailed down, but as soon as it is I will let everyone know.

This will make 3 Castles and Crusades games on Wednesday, prior to the con. I will be handing out the TLG booth number like crazy, and hopefully get a lot of new people heading that way.

Let me know if you have any questions, or if I need to add more slots.

I dont think TLG got in under the deadlline for an official game this year so the unofficial C&C games look to be the best route. I hope to get in on at least one, but the booth gets crazy so I can't really schedule anything and just have to adopt a luck-as-falls approach.

As usual Gencon worked with us (they really are great folks) and we managed to get 11 events submitted. They are pending approval. 9 of them are with James Mishler and 2 of them are with Davis Chenault.

I'll keep you posted via this thread as news comes to me.

Thanks!

Steve

Im happy to hear that they worked the TLG games into the schedule. Tylermo: Todd's workin the booth this year so I don't think he is gonna be able to run any of the official games. You cant go wrong with Davis or James though.

Cool. Almost makes me wish I could be there. I'd likely be at the auctions, though... cause I'm a bad boy.

I've been in some Todd G's, a P. Bradley or two, and then some local con gm's. All have been good. And, I'm sure you're right about Davis and James. IF i make it this year, hopefully, I'll get signed up in time. If not, I'll just pester Stephen and Todd at the booth like I do at Egyptian Campaign. Nice write up in the Crusader about Gary BTW.
