Troll Lord Games

The city I live in does not have a gaming store that has even heard of C & C, LA or GFW. .

I have mentioned my discovery to a few of my players, and they suggest that I talk to the store owner of the place where they hold a 7+ table gathering event on Sundays.
These people are D&D type fanatics, and the 7+ tables that I have seen are all playing different versions of the game, but they all have the D&D logo for any of the game versions they are playing.

Many of the players are showing an expressed interest in 4E, , and I would like some intel on who I should put the store owner in touch with, in the effort to begin the crusade in this city.

I currently do not have anything aside from the qiuickstart rules for C&C, and really do not like the online purchase ideas, and rarely get near a phone during normal business hours.

Just looking for a contact point so I can tell people about this alternative to lining the pockets of WOTC.

Okay, I'm an idiot (ask anyone), but I'm not precisely sure what you're asking for here, Lord F.

Lemme see if I've got the facts straight:

- you want to get some C&C started where you live

- there's no local game store

- there is, however, a place where people play rpgs (mostly D&D).

- you can't (or prefer not to) do online ordering or phone ordering.

- but you want to get C&C products into your area for yourself and for others to buy.

Have I got it right?

if I do understand you correctly, I guess my first thought would be: have you got a "big name" bookstore in your city? Chapters? Borders? Coles? If so, they can order you pretty much anything that's in print and out on the websites.

It'll probably cost a little more, because they'll make a profit as the "middleman" selling to you and your gamer buddies, but if you're not comfortable ordering online yourself, then this may be your best bet.

Even a "Mom and Pop" hometown bookstore has a distributor they get books from, so try there if you don't have a big name store in town.

If I remember rightly, the Troll Lord products page lists ISBN catalogue numbers and all that on each TLG product -- bring the bookstores the product data with your "want list" items, and they should be more than willing to bring it in for you.

If the bookstore's no good, is there a hobby/model/card shop where you live? They might be able to bring books in for you to buy

as well.

I bought a few extra C&C 2nd printing PHBs and handed them out when I was down on players, now I have created a small web of Crusaders in my area. There is not really a gamestore here, just a used and new bookstore (emphasis on the used) and a Hastings music, video and everything store that is taking notice. Hastings has rpgs, but focus on D&D and Exalted, although they quirkily carry Games Workshop's Warhammer rpgs. I am trying to add the next option, C&C.

I'd suggest recruiting from outside the known pool of players. Complete first timers. Our group is a mix of "grognards" [1st Edition version] who've retreated from the madness of WotC, and complete newbies who've never played a tabletop RPG before. It's quite grand, the fact that the latter come to the table with zero expectations of the game whatsoever and no edition baggage.
