Um, I wouldn't think so. Probably the 3rd printing (maybe, hopes).

The 3rd printing is already out. I hope this is a 4th printing, it would be nice to know that a 4th printing is already needed for C&C.

Hopefully the third printing of M&T will be soon to follow, since that means to me the number of groups who are actually playing is growing.

But with overstock I doubt it. Their publishing date isn't always the date the book was actually published.

The ISBN matches the 3rd print version.

Thank you for the info.

How much changed between 1st and 3rd printing?

Barnes and Noble has the one from September 2004. I wouldn't shop there except, I was given a Gift Card.

Enough changed that I bought 3 of them. The presentation alone is very superior.

Ditto-I've bought about six now. Four for gifts and two for me (my first one got stolen at a recent con-hopefully we got another convert out of it!)

The 4th Printing of the PH is in the works. About a month ago I thought we were much closer than we actually were (are). But we are still moving in that direction. We have some plans for it but obviously our biggest concern now is the CKG.

What your seeing is hopefully the book (3rd printing) making the rounds through the book trade. But there are still problems with that.

Thanks again for the info.

My local Barnes and Noble ( I was given a gift card ) can't even special order the 3rd printing. They can only special order from their corporate catalog of titles / warehouse. Their catalog has the 1st edition, and nothing newer - - which reminds why I never shop at that store.

Just a question. What's the difference between the printings? I've never played C&C and am kinda interested in checking it out. Should I check out one of the later printings, or would any one do?

1st printing: riddled with grammar problems and a "weird" layout for spells.

2nd printing: errata for 1st printing included, better layout, and poisons added.

3rd printing: errata for 2nd printing included, better layout, thinner book with same page count, poisons changed (and other minor things added.)

So, yes, as they continue to advance in print count, they get "better."

Ok, another question. If I were to pick up a PHB and look at it, how would I tell which printing it is? Does it say on the copyright page? Title page? Just wondering so I know whether or not I'm looking at a later printing.

Look at the spine. If the # there is TLG8010 its a 1st print PHB; if its TLG80102 its a 2nd print; if its 80103, its a 3rd print. Doesn't get much easier.

Nice to see that the distro reps in this industry are a testament to our government education system.

I think it would be nice if the CKG included the PHB errata for each PHB printing as of the CKG publish date. That way, if you have a first print PHB and a first print CKG, you'd have all the errata notes for your PHB in the CKG. That would be nice for your average B&M buyer who doesn't visit the web looking for errata.

As a full time employee of the government education system I can only say: Thirty years of of bad parenting (See Jerry Springer show for examples) coupled with bad education policy and the removal of ass wuppins from public school hasn't helped a bit hahha!

I guess so called child psychologists and lawyers need the money more than kids in schools do.

They used to have an education program that really helped shape young juvenile delinquents into sharp, focused, talented, hard working members of society. They called it the Marines.

The 3rd printing has shiny paper and is really thin. My preferred edition is the 2nd printing, mainly due to book construction. I don't like shiny, skinny books.
