*snorts* Better to worry about the anti matter experiments CERN is working on than mini black holes.
Sides.. if either cook off, folks wont have more than a nanosecond to worry about it before their are either crushed to sub particle size or blown out of existence.
Why worry?

I worked at one of those experiments, and all I can say is: bullshit.
These things cannot produce any effect outside the laboratory, since they need huge amounts of energy to work. They do not work as fission nuclear reactions. As soon as energy stops, everything becomes inert.
An experimental site in Italy, built to detect gravitational waves, was attacked by the local populace since they believed that the machine built gravitational waves, and obviously, the local politicians and journalists had no clue as to what the machine did, so they chose to go for the worse and sued us. Obviously, they lost the cause once someone tried to explain the principles on which the antenna worked.
As George Orwell said: ignorance is strength

OK, forget about that. I just saw on TV yesterday that somebody invented a way to make sea water catch on fire by bombarding it with high frequency radio waves.
Yes, regular sea water cathing fire is, um... bad.

Only if you happen to be standing in it at the time. Any other time, just bring the marshmellows.

You are right to be fearful.
If the collider experiences a "reasonance cascade", it could easily open another portal between Earth and Xen.
I'm going to call me friend Alyx. She can reach Gordon Freeman in City 17. He'll know what to do.
This has me worried.
