Thanks to the efforts of Serleran, Moriarty, and the Troll King himself, Steve Chenault. I received my Castles & Crusades books today! Thank you all!

Eight days (including weekends) by standard shipping from Troll HQ in the southern US to me here, in the (literal) wilds of northeastern Canada. Not bad, not bad at all!

It's going to take me a while to process everything -- not because the rules are dense or hard to grasp (far from it!), but just because I do better with rules sets if I try to absorb them as a whole. I already have at least one rules question for Serleran's monster rules-help thread, but hopefully, I won't have badger him too often!

For those of you old enough (or movie-fan enough) to get the reference, that sound you hear in the distance is me, running around outside, and yelling "The new phone books are here! The new phone books are here!" at the top of my lungs ...

I must quote the "cans" line at least once a month in conversation. I'd say people get it maybe 1 out of every 3 times.

My wife has grown tired of me doing this every time the new phone books show up. Guess 15+ years of marriage will do that to you. Or maybe she's just jealous because she can't get that excited about nothing.

Great. Now Im cross-eyed. Jerk. I guess I'll get a job working at a gas station.

8 days from the USA to Canada is a miracle. I've shipped many packages to Canada & cross-border shipping is a nightmare.(usually)

Have fun with the books. Now you're somebody!!

I discovered one secret which seemed to help, that I can pass along:

If you send a commercial packege across the Canuck border at an expedited/courier rate, it opens you up to "import taxes", which can often be more expensive than the value of whatever you purchased.

If, however, you send your package Standard Delivery, it doesn't trigger the uber-taxes.

Just FYI, and trying to help ...

Good Luck
