No I won't pay anything related to 4e. Also, this 15$ fee per month is but another proof that 4e is but a grab-money scheme to get rpgers rid of their money.

Not interested. I've got a great face to face group to game with, and while I very much miss Dragon I have no desire to read it on-line.
Wotc has lost a customer and I've been buying D&D products since 1979.
That's a big part of why I've parted ways with WotC too... though I've only been playing since 1981.
I have existed from the morning of the world and I shall exist until the last star falls from the night. Although I have taken the form of Gaius Caligula, I am all men as I am no man and therefore I am... a god.
The only way I would find the $15 per month a deal is if it also included print versions of Dragon and Dungeon sent to my mail box. Still, the Dragon would have to be more fluff rather than new feats, powers, and power builds of the week. If it has fluff stuff like the last few issues of the old Dragon had, then it would be a deal I could see myself buying into.

I'd play it, if I had to, because no one would play anything else. And, I'll probably give it a three session chance once its available, to see what its like. I even gave EverQuest d20 a chance (and some of the rules were pretty cool - I kinda like how they did weapon speed, for example.) So, I'm not counting it wholly dead... just, not what I would pick to play. And, I would never pay for a monthly service unless I was actually getting something for it. pdfs aren't anything - have to pay more to use them, and I have no use for and online map tool; I don't play online as it is, and I need more excuses to get away from computers anyway.

I'm unfamiliar with Shaiya but I've heard of it. I'll need to check it out. I play Guildwars on and off -- a business model I can respect.

www.shaiya.aeriagames.com. It's fairly simple as far as MMO's go, but I'm hooked.

Hey! It's been a long time since I posted here.... been busy.
Well... I am a tech geek - I love tech! So my response is bit complex.
I wouldn't want to pay 15$ a month for P&P gaming - not even for Dragon or Dungeon Mags. A mag should be in paper - nuff said there! I tried DDO for 3 months when it first came out, and didn't like it even though I love video games. I went back to DDO a year later and still didn't like it. I currently subscribe to XBOX LIVE and play ANY game I want using the XBOX for about 6$ a month. However... those are video games not P&P games. I just think the idea of playing D&D online for a fee is ridiculous. The new generation have lost something we had... and I'm not all that old.... I think....! I just don't see how this can be profitable in the long run. It's difficult enough to get people together in person, I've tried using MSN and such online, and it is no easier. So I think this is bound to fail, but that's just me.
However.... I wouldn't mind looking into it out of curiosity for a month or two. I hope they offer a free trial. I am curious to see what the various screens look like. I am in particular, interested in the mapping features, but I swear... if they end up having you pay for 'digital miniatures' then I'm going to have to seriously slap someone upside the head a few times over at WOTC. AND I CAN SEE THEM DO THIS TOO! Heck... Microsoft already charges for digital pictures and wallpaper and such for your XBOX so why wouldn't WOTC charge for a RARE DRITZ FIGURE - in digital form? It is a money making scheme and the possibilities are numerous for them to take advantage of. money money money - but we all know that already.
The concept of P&P RPGs is what I love. Having my friends over or going to a new place and meeting people for the first time IN PERSON (thanks moriarity777 - that was fun) just can't be beat. So while I am interested and would love an online tool for when one or 2 of my players can't make it in person due to illness or other circumstance, I can not sensibly pay for such a service that can be had for free or much less elsewhere.
So, yes and no. I will pay for 1 month... but doubt it would last. So I will have wasted 15$..... call me silly.
