You know that iPod in your subconscious? How songs can get stuck in there for YEARS, even if you HATE them?
Right, well, years ago there was this Canadian "new wave" band called Strange Advance. They had a single called "She Controls Me" which just lodged itself in my brain, for reasons unknown, and I still find myself singing it in the shower, and other places, even now -- some twenty years later.
Yesterday, I found the video on YouTube HERE. The video itself looks so dated and low-rent now that it could be a "MAD TV" parody skit -- it's very funny, without ever intending to be so.
Be warned, though -- I'm convinced the song itself is a memetic virus, or geased, or some such crazy thing ...

Tonight it's Rogue Traders: Here Come The Drums. For a non-80's band, they sound extremely 80's... I can pretend I still have my big hair and shoulder pads when I listen to them!

Hmm, I can't say I've listened to an album per se in a few years now. With the invention of I-Tunes I just get the songs I want. No albums here, but a mish mash of whatever I want to listen to at this particular moment.
As of this morning, this insane mix:

If you like instrumental rock guitar, make sure you check out Andy Timmons. He doesn't yet have the recognition that Satch, Eric Johnson, and Vai have, but it's only a matter of time. Phenomenally good tone.

Not an album, but just a compilation of songs -- Queensrche: Silent Lucidity, The Red Hot Chili Peppers: The Other Side, Godsmack: Voodoo, Prodigy: Smack My Bitch Up, Rammstein: Amerika, Danny Elfman: Insanity, Iced Earth: Dracula, Blind Guardian: Another Holy War, Type O Negative: Be My Druidess.... just whatever was interesting at that time.

After many minutes spent shopping, I retrieved a CD I had been looking for for some time:
Manowar - The Triumph of Steel. It has been almost 10 years since I've listened to Track 1: Achilles - Agony and Ecstasy in Eight Parts. I miss 30 minute long heavy metal anthems.

Not listening to whole CDs much lately; mostly just assorted songs.
Today's favorite song is "Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden. Chris Cornell is one of my absolute favorite male voices in rock. I can't wait to hear what's on his upcoming solo disc, produced by Timbaland (!!), of all people!
