Missing Articles in Crusader # 7 PDF?

Post by TheNewGuy »

I bought the newly-released PDF version of Crusader # 7 only to find that the following articles -- mentioned both in the TLG Product listings here, and over there at RPGNow -- aren't actually anywhere in the issue:
Quote:
A New take on the Sleep Spell: Dreaded by Castle Keepers, loved by players the sleep spell can be an unbalancing life saver. We take a new look at the spell with alternative versions as well as hints and points on how to balance it out.

Going the Distance: Travel in your C&C Game. How far can you go afoot? on horse? in a wagon? Cobbled roads, tracks, trails and tramping boots all add up to different distances. Davis boots have long grown thin soled as hes hobbled about the country, he unravels distance in the game and makes it easer for you to get back On The Road.

The weird thing is, these are the two articles I bought the issue for ...

Not whining, just wondering,

It is also missing an advertised article on the 'history of the shield', which is indicated as present on the front cover. Crisader #7 is only 28 pages, as opposed to the 32 of previous issues. I suspect some articles were cut at the last minute.

Huh... I hadn't even noticed that. Maybe we'll be seeing some of those pieces in issue 8...

I'll bring this to Steve's attention.

This is my fault. Those articles were intended to be i nthe issue but were cut for whatever reason...a long time ago. I took that ad copy from our webpage, which apparently needs some changes made to it.

If you need a refund, post RPGnow and they will hook you up. I fixed the RPG now ad copy so it reads semi-correctly.

I should never work at 1 am on a Saturday.hahah

Thanks and my apologies.

No refunds required, Steve. You've dealt with me directly before, and done right by me as a customer, so you get a free pass on this one, no question.

Gotta say, your editorial on "Brevity In Gaming", and the current marketing of pencil-and-paper rpgs, was one of the most insightful articles concerning the so-called "state of the industry" that I've read in years and years. You really cut to the truths of the matter, at least in my opinion.

All I can add is that your line of thinking helped pull me into C&C. I was pretty much ready to give up on paper rpgs -- not in some angry, melodramatic "George Lucas' prequels killed my childhood!" stupid fashion; I was just finally weary of fantasy rpg games always being more about reading rules, and general prep work, than about having fun.

C&C put the fun and ease-of-use back into fantasy rpgs for me, with intuitive rules that made sense. Thanks to you and the Trolls for that!

Cheers,

TheNewGuy
