Requium

Post by Bowbe »

It is with sadness I announce the passing of two up and coming heroes of the Haunted Highlands.

Somewhere deep beneath the surface of Karbosk, did Fenzil, Barbarian priest of Bowbe join his patron in the Great Meadhall of Jotungaard. There too did the bard Zuriel meet his legendry end. Other poets no doubt will tell his tale, and speak fondly of how he charged single handedly against two of the three, only to find himself roasted like the villagers who served as the trio's meal within the oni's dining hall.

Fenzil had adventured with the party since the onset of Yorgach's invasion, and was present during the collapse of Ft. Ewar to goblin alchemy and orc brutality. Known for his cunning use of hurled stones in favor of healing his comrades during battle, Fenzil was first roasted by an oni's flame and then struck low by its glaive.

Zuriel, a survivor of the assault on Dro Madras, who was instrumental in helping free other survivors of that besieged city succumbed to the fire and passed to the fertile gardens of Fythele when his allies failed to treat his blistered wounds in time.

Few words of remembrance were spoken by the stunned survivors save "Who can use Zuriel's sword," and "Do you suppose that breastplate will fit anyone?" as the remainder of the party busied themselves with scouring their scorched corpses for loot.

The Dwarves of The Firstgate offered a proper burial for the fallen heroes within the tombs of Fanderburg, however the survivors insisted on leaving their comrades where they lay as "They would have wanted it that way, and would have preferred we spend the money on something other than a fancy tomb, but thanks anyways."

Indeed long will they be remembered for their heroism.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

Typical response from surviving party members . . . so what's the issue?
"Can I have your armour when you're dead?"

Maybe such a happening will happen to make it into one of the HH products down the line. Think of how cool it might be for a party to quest for the old Sword of Zuriel?

It sounds as if the problem of the "cleric who wouldn't heal his friends" has been partially solved...
