So why do you lurkers just lurk? Are you just checking out C&C and not sure your going to play, or what?

You have things to contrbute, such as who you are, where you live, why you are checking out or playing C&C, and everyone has ideas.

Or are only 30 of us interested in C&C and the rest are here because of LA?

I use to just lurk. Then somehow I got sucked into constant posting. With lurkers I am sure they are browsing for specific info and reading.

I lurk. Wait. I post. Wait, I do both. People should only post if they wish to contribute. Also, some (at least five I know) are duplicate accounts...

I post now-a-days but when I first investigated internet forums it was when I just started trying 3.0 D&D, back in 2002. I went to the Necromancer boards since it was their product (Necropolis) that pushed me into switching from AD&D to d20 D&D.

I lurked for almost a year and here's why:

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Perhaps others hear this bit of wisdom still.

Hello all. Started gaming around 82-83 (opened my Basic D&D set with Spandau Ballet's "True" playing on WTBS' Night Tracks in the background lol.) Played AD&D and various supers games through the 80's (Villains & Vigilantes, Marvel Super Heroes, DC Heroes) but got out of role-playing at the same time 2nd Edition AD&D came out. Picked up some books during the 90's, but didn't play again 'till 3rd Edition came out. I've picked up the C&C Player's Handbook, Monsters & Treasure, and a bunch of modules, but haven't had the opportunity to play yet. The simple, elegant, yet old-school feel is what has attracted me to C&C, so hopefully I'll be able to DM a game or two with my group soon. I currently play in a Forgotten Realms game, a homebrew game, and GM an Arcana Evolved game and Mutants and Masterminds game (all on hiatus at the moment until the university starts up again next month)

Heh, this kinda funny......

I dont post all that often, cause unless I feel I have something to add, Im just taking up board kb, never know when some smuck may miss something 'important' (relatively) in regards to the apparent topic, but missed it due to pointless posts=)

Not that there is anything wrong with that neccessarily, I like the friendly veneer we gots goin here, which is why I left a few other boards (well, that, and the military firewalls are a real b**$% about what they allow and dont allow. Talk about completely random, bah.

Anywho, well regards

Maybe we should have a weekly C&C based topic or something to spur on the creative juices in the forums?

Any topic suggestions?

Hello to ElfKnight!

Severite, I've actually spotted you before. Something about Palladium Fantasy. Oh, yes!! The Summoner! Then I followed up with how I also like the Diabolist and how they did psionics.

A large part of what this forum is about is to build friendship and comraderie, as well as to help each other with ideas and understanding certain rules.

Join the PbP and chat games if you can. Start one!

Let people know if you agree or disagree, and add why.

Lets make this a great on-line community where we go to Troll Cons because we want to meet our on-line friends and play face to face with them!

lol, oh, I post, and I was at LGGC, I just dont post all that often cause, like I said, I feel stupid if I dont have soemthing intelligent to say
Anywho, why not? I first got into RPGs at like 12 ish or so, the babysitters husband played rifts with his wife, and being into fantasy and sci fi, pulled me like a magnet, so I got the rifts, played with my cousins, and just generally got really into it. My first introduction into the whole fantasy genre was the second palladium fantasy book, old ones, which I thought, page for page, word for word was tons better then what was mostly coming out for rifts at the time. So, fast forward a ton, I finally get the palladium fantasy stuff, and, come to find out, the later stuff in that isn't as cool as the earlier stuff either, so when I saw a few posts about C&C over at the palladium boards, I took a look and promptly ordered the C&C core books, and jumped on ebay and picked up a veritable treasure trove of D&D stuff, which is a shame, as I dont have room to take it all back with me, so I gotta downsize the less important stuff. Heh. Oh, and the other reason that I moved here (C&C and the old school D&D scene) is that while I do happen to just enjoy this a great deal in comparison to the palladium new stuff, I find the boards and overall community to be more friendly, and just more enjoyable to take part of at DF and here.

Sorry for the long rambling nature of this post, but just in case anyone ever cares, I can just point them here 8)

A straight Palladium crossover? Don't believe I have heard of anyone doing that before! To D&D I have, I just mean from Paladium to C&C, without passing through the D&D square.
Welcome to the Crusade and may it be a long and enjoyable membership!

It's wrong of you to tell everyone that. You're supposed to let our victims figure it out on their own. It drives the lesson home better that way.

Well, this is probably somewhat typical. People register and then forget to come back or come back and just lurk as they continue to read and learn more about the game. And when they are ready, they will post.

I know I lurked for a couple of months at the old TLG forum before registering. And then after registering, I didn't post that much as I was just kicking back and learning the game. After the Boxed Set came out, I started to post a bit more.

And then there are others who know the game very well, but just post occasionally, 'cause they don't feel the need or are very busy and don't spend a lot of time on the boards.

It's all good. There's room for all types of members.

I mostly, lurk, post whenever something catches my eye, or pushes my buttons. I've been here since the very beginning, though. I was one of the first to register on the old boards. Since the playtesting for the phb is over, I haven't been as talkative, er typative.

I've been playing D&D since about 1981, started with AD&D 1e, went to 2E, back to 1e, tried 3e, hate it, but still play it because the idiots in my group won't play anything else. Played Hackmaster for a while, messed around with a few other systems - Atchooloo, Torg, and MERP to name a few. Jumped on the C&C bandwagon when it was still a wheelbarrow. My ideal game is a mixture of C&C and AD&D 1e, still looking for a group to play old school D&D or C&C in North Alabama. I'm probably one of the harshes critics of C&C because I recognize it as a game with a lot of potential and I want to see it do well and improve - without adding a crapload of rules like 3e.
