Hey there,
This is just a small quick question about monsters in the RC and CC. Some monsters are starred (*) next to their HP. For example the Mummy is 5 +1 **. Should those stars be added as levels when rolling to hit or spell level? Some monsters have 5 or six stars so this could be an important consideration.
Can't wait till the M&T pdf is updated to 2nd printing and is lowered to a more reasonable price (such as the PHB). Till then, I'll happily use my printed and bound RC and CC (cost about $8 total).
I'm a paying customer now ($10 PHB pdf woot), and happy about it!
Cheers,

Question about porting monsters from RC
The * in pre-d20 D&D mean "extra experience" for "special abilities." C&C already factors these in, by giving each ability a Type (I - III) which awards added XP based on HD #. So, no, they are not generally a factor in "to hit" or "saves" unless there is an ability possessed that warrants such, though you may want to give an increased HD type (that is, go from d8 to d10 or d12) if there are many asterisks for a particular creature (such as demons, for example.) If you wish to be exceptionally vicious, you can do this -- increase HD step by 1 / 3 asterisks. For each asterisk, add one HD.
Not necessarily mean; It's a useful suggestion for the CK. If you port a creature straight over from the RC and it has low HD but lots of asterisks (extra abilities), you might be tempted to through it at your low level party without much forethought, especially when you're winging it. However, if you were to adjust the number of HD based on the number of asterisks, you'll know not to arbitrarily throw the critter at your party for another level or two.
