Since I live here in Columbus, attending Origins is a no-brainer..

Anyone coming into town and might want to squeeze in a game, or a game-swap during the con?

Fri Evening June 27th 6 PM

Castle & Crusades

Shield of the King - Shield of the King. It's good to be the King, but not for you. A new war has begun, and it's up to you to protect your Monarch...

Look for this at RPG HQ up in the Hotel. Hey! Where is the Troll Lords Booth going to be, I get ask every year at my games

Trolls haven't been to Origins in a 2-3 years I believe. I should go to Origins, since it is only a few hours from me, but it's just not in teh cards this year. One year, we need to make a concentrated effort to get to Origins and have a mini Troll-Con!

Too many other cons(small, medium, large) to make it to Origins. Hell, I'll be lucky if I can swing both Gencon and Dragoncon. My wife goes to Dragoncon with me for the actors, panels, and what-not. She tells me I'm only going to one. I sincerely hope it's both. Time, gas, hotel, and food money will tell.

I would be there but I am told I have more important things to spend money on this year. Oh well.

Thus went LGGC IV for me. Twice now I have paid admission only to have to cancel at the last minute, Scored some good points with the wife though, and might be able to make another Trollcon later this year or WinterDark ...maybe.

Any official dealer offering TLG product at a booth at Origins you'd care me to refer players to

Well, I always suggest people check out Crazy Egor's. If you deal with one of the "helpers" and not Paul himself, it might not be a great experience -- they can tend to be rather rude -- but if you get the man himself, its bound to be a great experience. Plus, you never know what he's going to have. I do know he has a couple C&C items, but he also has a ton of OoP gaming goodness.

Beyond that, of course, is TLG if they're there. :)

Just wrapped day 1 at Origins. The exhibit hall continues to disappoint more and more each year, and two games I had tickets for got canceled, one the GM did not show, the other I was the only player scheduled. Overall attendance seems much lower this year too. I remember just 4 or 5 years ago them having lines for badge registration on Thursday morning that were at least 45 minutes long, this morning you could walk right up and get in.

Yeah, Origins really has been slipping for the past 4-5 years or so. Origins lost most of the big game sponsors it had I believe back about 7-8 years ago. I would say that about the year AD2000, Origins was the 2nd or 3rd largest con out there. Now, it probably draws less then 10,000 people.

For Origins sake, I hope Friday and Saturday draw more.

It sucks too, bucause the Greater Columbus Convention Center is an absolute STELLAR LOCATION! Great activities to do outside the con. The Short North (the area right on High Street by the hotels and convention center has really become a hot area to seen and be seen in the past 5 years, (especially jumpin' in the last 2 years).
