Will TLG do 4e?
I think the title says it all.

Avoid like black death seems to be the latest consensus.

Good... maybe it (and windows Vista) will just fade away.
Thanks.

Also, TLG is a bit busy slaving away at all of their C&C products. I think it's fair to say their time is booked for the next two or three years at minimum.
*cracks whip* Work harder, brothers Chenault!

I don't think the C&C crowd can have that much influence, save by converting D&D players.
Oh wait, show of hands, who's a C&C fan because they got fed up with D&D?
Hmm. : D

It is very unlikely TLG will produce a 4e product, but, they might - there is still Cult of Yex to release, if that is still going to happen.

Personally, I'm looking for an Advanced Castles & Crusades (AC&C).

We have given 4e a great deal of thought. I have been the one leaning hardest toward doing a line of 4e adventures. But last month Davis and I sat down (he's really the big idea man around here) and we ran it all through its courses from one end to the other and decided against it. We have only recently gotten comfortable with the C&C line and have not, we both believe, even begun to grow it...aka marketing. This isn't even to mention the old TLG/Gygax work horse the GFW line and the LA line. To do a 4e series would force us to pull resources from other projects and that we both are just not willing to do.
So we have turned away from 4e and have redoubled our efforts on the hosts of unfinished projects around here...the CKG being number one on the list.
But Robert is right. We would be interested in doing Cult as 4e, but I can't get those guys to answer my emails.
But in short, no, there are no plans to do any 4e and nor have any resources...aside from some Peter-Steve banter and one very long staff meeting..been .devoted to 4e.
Hope that helps.
Steve

I would be interested in seeing something for fourth edition. A bonfire comes to mind almost immediately.

Not that it matters much, but I also have ZERO interest in 4E. I honestly dont think that 4E would benefit TLG in any way at this point.

I also think TLG should concentrate its energies into its signature lines, C&C (including CZ), LA and hopefully a successful StarSiege RPG.
If TLG does decide to produce any other material, I'd actually think offerring a single d20 line still makes sense (although it seems the Cult of Yex authors have disappeared into the netherworlds) - especially as there now is a market (i.e. Pathfinder) for OGL material. I still think this should be a down-the-road, after all efforts have gone to C&C, LA and Star Siege.

Yes, no doubt TLG should concentrate (at least for the next year or so) on it's flagship line, Castles & Crusades. Follow that up with a seperate offereing every now and again (Starsiege, Victorious, etc) and solidify that fan base with the upset 4th edition purchasers that are bound to roll in.

Here's how I became a C&C fan (for what it's worth):
When I heard D&D 4th edition announced, I scoured the internet for a copy of the "Dungeons and Dragons Rules Cyclopedia". I was determined to go "old school" and had read online that this book was the book to have. While researching that book, a post at the Wizard's forums mentioned that book and C&C in favorable terms.
I checked into C&C and have been happy ever since!
Also, my first roleplaying experience was with FASA's "Star Trek: The Roleplaying Game" and I've been smitten with sci-fi rpgs ever since (although I haven't tried most of the dreck out there over the years, I admit). I'm looking VERY forward to "Starsiege"!!

Boy, that _was_ a noob first post of mine, though! My whole point was to chime in and say "no 4e for me"!
I came to bury 4e, not to praise it! The noble Brutus...
...sorry...
I came to C&C BECAUSE of 4e, so I'm personally not interested in anything 4e.
Just my 2 gp...

I'm interested in developing some new house rules from 4E, and I am interested in trying it out in nwelte's online game, but other then that, um, yeah, no strong interest. I don't see it increasing either, but I could be wrong. Nwelte's game could blow me away and help me decide to become a 4E fan boy.

Even as someone who is enjoying 4e, I don't really care to see the Trolls put out 4e stuff. I like having various systems and would rather see TLG concentrate on their C&C stuff over some other system.

I not only have zero interest in 4e, having converted to C&C...but I even cancelled my WoW account since I've been enjoying C&C so much more.
One thing that may be fun...is sort of a C&C version of what Dungeon started out as...before WotC sold out on the fans. Not saying it's a must...just a would be cool.

I have no interest in 4e products.
Since I got in my order from the Trolls, I've shelved all the other games I run other than Dark Heresy. I'm now working through Yggsburgh and am anxiously awaiting Upper Works.... er back to ariginal point 4e=

Zero interest in 4e. I never liked WoW, and I really do think 4e is catering to that crowd. In fact, I'm even partly getting out of 3.5, and going pretty much to C&C -- after reading the rulebooks, and realizing that my favorite 1e, 2e and 3.5e stuff can be painlessly converted (and I have the added pleasure of fewer rules headaches -- I shudder at the mere mention of "AOO"), I was hooked.
I was running the Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk -- that's now on hold as I'm going to run Castle Zagyg as Castle Greyhawk.
