CK Trove???
" A collection of items found or discovered... "
Personally, I'm really indifferent about the name. do agree that there would need to be errata to fix up all places sundry that currently list the CKG - and good luck getting amazon to fix its web site - what's it been 9 years already???
just for the love of god, don't change the style or layout of the cover. make it look like a damn set - unlike CZ products.
else, I'll drive down there myself and wedgie the bunch of you...
you've been warned!!!
cheers,
J.

While I think some of the good humor might be counterproductive and muddling to Steve actually getting solid feedback on this question, my sense is the answer he's looking for is:
name change more trouble than it's worth as far as the C&Cers here go, probably just stick with CKG
(not trying to be curmudgeony here - it's just his posts seemed to want for serious, honest feedback and we posters can sometimes get so into the humor of message boarding that it's hard to know just which way the wind is really blowing.... or what a particularly funny sarcastic post might really indicate)

LOL
You guys all suck!
Okay, the name stays Castle Keepers Guide. Amidst all the jokes were some very good points, plus Aldo told me it would gain the book nothing.
Now as an aside, changing the name would actually cure the Amazon headache as I could cancel that title and not repost it as the CKG. If I cancel it now and try to repost as CKG they will say that that title has already been.
Its all so terribly confusing.
But on and forward. We are working on the CKG right now babbling about the mechanics of the siege engine and how it plays into.....er, that's for another discussion.

You could always use both names on the cover (subtitle it):
The Castle Keeper's Backpack
A Guide to Castle Keeping
OR
The Castle Keeper's Backpack
A Guide for the Castle Keeper
Just a suggestion.
I do agree that renaming it, without reference immediately visible that this book is for the CK (or intended for the CK) then I believe that some confusion would be wrought as to when the "real" CKG would be coming out. Hence my suggestion for a CKG reference on the cover (if you still wanted to go with the CKB idea).

Hey, when a product has been in development for longer than some of my children have been alive, I get to crack jokes about it.
I'll be first in line to get one.
I can understand that you may want to change the name to help out the Amazon problem and with the erroneous notion among gamers that you
are trying to mimic the three books of D&D or that the CKG is a required book for C&C. If you need to change the name - then do it. We'll all still buy it.
But for now, the CKG is just a myth - a really intriguing legend that interests me greatly. Someday, I may even take a great journey to discover it's origins and the secrets it holds...

What would be great would be a real life backpack, containing all things a CastleKeeper would need:
C&C Castle Keeper's Backpack:
- CK screen
- CKG
- dice
- player sheets
The backpack would of course contain a cool C&C logo embroided.
I mean what do all the CK's now use to carry around all their RPG books? It would be great (PR-wise and customer-wise) to have a real C&C CK backpack to put all our RPG books in. In the shop people will automatically ask what C&C is, and this in turn will most probably bring in more people.
PS: if the idea of a real backpack is adopted, do I get one for free?

Even with a name as bad as "Castle Keeper's Backpack", I am going to buy it.
