In particular Essential Places, Lej. Pantheons, and the new Canting Crew? I didn't see a specific response to this in the announcement threads in this forum or the Press forum.
Are they Trigee licensed books? I would assume so, but they also attempted to be pretty generic at the same time. Lej. Pantheons was apparently working out to be a LA/C&C hybrid, so I imagine this is effected for sure, but what about the rest of the line?
IF TLG isn't going to do them any word on if Trigee will?

So what is happening to the World Builder series?
So what is happening to the World Builder series?
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

One thing I picked up in the announcement threads, was that all references to LA had to be removed from the World Builder books before they could be re-released. This would delay everything for a while. But I haven't seen an official definitive statement either.

All I know is I'm glad I got the GFW series when I did. The first volume I picked was over a year ago which was also the latest in the Series (being the Cosmos Builder). I wasn't sure if I wanted to get some of the others but, with some helpful information from my fellow crusaders, took advantage of the last $10 sale and got most of the others. Having loved them so much, I was able to track down Volume II at a good price (in transit right now). The Canting Crew was the only one I wasn't sure about since I figured it was only a matter of time before it the Canting Crew Revisited came out which I figured would probably be something this year. However, I saw it at a great price and decided, once again, as a collector to pick it up to (also in transit).
When those two finally come in, I'll have the whole series. With the recent decisions concerning LA, I'm even happier to have done this. I have no idea what will come of the series in general. To be fair there isn't a heck of a lot LA material in the books to begin with or even d20 material. What might be an interesting consideration is, if LA material has to be purged from these volumes, to keep the regular d20 material along with the new C&C material. This will mean revisiting the Canting Crew Revisited with a hopeful, sooner rather than later, release.
With Lejendary Pantheons, the best direction I'd like that see is towards a 'Legends & Lore' / 'Deities & Demigods' treatment -- perhaps with a bit of focus on the Pantheon of Airhde. Who knows... I'm sure something can be salvaged. The question that remains in my mind: will there be any new books in the GFW series or had the series potentially run it's course?

I've only got book of names, and World Builder, so I haven't decided what to do yet. Haven't really played LA at this point, not doing a tremendous amount with D20 these days, and largely play pre-made adventures and plot points. That said, they're nice books. Wouldn't mind finishing things out, but it might be best to wait for the C&C statted books, if indeed that's going to happen. One gets the impression it will.

Not to discourage you and certainly not a slam against the Trolls but:

If you notice when the Original Post was made, major plans to redo the Canting Crew (not to mention the rest of the series) began back in September of 2006.
After waiting a year and a half (and passing up other opportunities) to get it, I finally decided to get a copy. This was a matter of days before the first LA announcement. I'm still going to get the Revisited Edition when it comes out but considering TLG's immediate lineup and mandatory removal of the LA material we may be very lucky to see this by the end of the year IMO. However, I refused to pay much over $15 for it. If on the fence, don't pay much for it because the eventual release of the newer edition is sure to blow the original one out of the water.
As for the rest of the series, I can only really comment from Volume III onwards (since my copies of I and II are enroute) but the actual game system specific crunch is VERY little. Nation Builder probably has the most which is restricted to the Appendices (the give a few new d20 classes and stuff for LA) which may end up being useless. In any case, when these original editions go, there will hardly be anything that requires to be taken out. I say keep the d20 material since it's all OGL anyway and throw in a few C&C tidbits and you're done. I don't think anything necessitates a huge rewrite.
I'm really glad to have gotten the set with my only regret being having waited as long as I did for the hope of 'Revisited' versions of them all. I like them all (thus far... I'm assuming I will equally adore I and II) and I'm having great fun with Volume III - Living Fantasy at the moment.

It has always been my contention that the GFW series has very little "system" in it, for any game. Some volumes, notably Canting Crew and the maybe-upcoming Lejendary Pantheons, had/have more... I still suggest buying them when, and where, they are available. Each is a wonderful work, and I do hope the Trolls can continue to release them, sans the LA fluffy stuff (which is basically all it was, really -- maybe some prices, some light mentions of X and Y, but nothing massive-- CC and LP are probably the most "heavy" in this.)
Anyway, I'll wait for Steve to answer.
