Sorry for entering the political field, but I think it's unlikely Schwarzy would play again a Terminator, while still being a governor. I don't think he would find the time to do both a movie and attend to his job of governor, and then I don't think it would be a great idea to incarnate a terminator for his political image. On the other and, they could use 3D (as for Hulk) or another actor.

Yeah...as interesting as it may be for Ahnold to come back, I think it would be highly unlikely that he would.

I don't know. I would think he's missing the limelight of Hollywood, but maybe he will wait for his term of office to end. Hmm, I don't remember when that is.

But, I for one would like to see the return of Arnold as the Terminator!!

I'm glad to hear that they're not shying away from an R rating, if that's what it gets.

As for Arnold, it'd be cool to see him in it, but again, it doesn't seem likely, unless they use cgi to make a virtual Arnold.

There is pretty substantial rumors that there is another Austrian body-builder who will be playing the role of one of the T-800s in Terminator Salvation. The guy doesn't look exactly like Arnold S., but the similarity is there.

He could do the movie without much problem, especially if its like T2. He had like, what, 50 lines in the whole thing.

No way!!!
That would be a disaster, IMO. Who would go see a fake Arnold. Not me.

Doesn't matter, only Arnold could take a short lines and make them legend . . "I'll be back"!!
I like how they had fun with twists on that line in T3 - something like "he won't be back" or "she'll be back"!!

Arnold better "be back" or fagetaboutit!

Not all of the T-800s look the same. If you recall from the first movie, the T-800's were infiltrator types designed to get into the human resistance. A difference in the appearance of the models should be assumed I think.

I didn't recall other T-800 models . . . McGs quote follows:

""'The T-800 model indeed is part of the mythology of Terminator,' McG said coyly, referring to the machine model California's governor played in the first three films."

But I see that they've cast an Arnold fake - Austrian bodybuilder who trained with Arnold:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0438488/

I don't know - this seems very risky. The movie had better be stellar and even so. Arnold may get a cameo, but that's not enough to drive the film unless it's just a great story/plot.

But, since we all know or can guess that particular timeframe/story, I wonder . .

I do think that the popularity of the TV show may have something to do with making this film.

Oh well, we'll just have to see.

What I want to know is has this film put pay to hopes of a second seaon of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?

Heck with the Terminator, I want to see Aaaarrrrrnold as CONAN again! He would be perfect for any of the King Conan stories now at his age.

There was another Terminator model depicted in the first film. During Kyle's flashback. After returning to the underground hiding spot he begins looking at Sarah Connor's picture, A dog starts barking at a new arrival dressed in rags. This new person throws off the rags and pulls out some sort of laser machinegun and starts firing. Then we see the tell-tale glow of red in his eyes. if I remember correctly this Terminator was not Ah-nold.

Fingers crossed, then.
Still, it'll probably be winter by the time we get it over here on Virgin One (that is if Sky One doesn't snap the bloody thing up). Hmmn, Sky, Skynet?

Yeah, I remember that; according to IMDB the role of 'Future Terminator" was played by Franco Columbu (also credited as the "Pictish Scout" in Conan the Barbarian), but whether that was a T-800 or some other model, I wouldn't like to say.

I second that motion. We haven't had a movie in that niche in forever, scorpion king tried but fell short.
