So, any news on the Judges Guild rumor over at the Necro boards?

From the Necro boards:

Final pre-Gen Con update...

For information on this new Judges Guild project, you will be able to find flyers with details beginning Thursday, in the exhibit hall, at booths #1810 and #502... :hat

A full announcement with a question and answer session will occur at Bob's 10:00 Saturday seminar ("Death & Resurrection of Judges Guild") at the Hyatt in the Canyon Room.

I will try to get web access while at the show to post the full info, so everyone not attending can at least get the basic information...

And....

Hmmm. I begin to have a sense for what comes next...I'll leave you with the results of a Google search:

#502 = Troll Lords.

and #1810 = Gamescience

Strange. No talk at all about the JG "news" at the TLG booth today. Not while I was there, anyways.

Sweet! I remember last year, at GenCon, shwoing Bob Bledsaw my copy of M&T, and us discussing C&C briefly. This is great news, and James is a cool guy and great author, if swamped at times with other projects. I think this will be a huge boon to C&C, and am very excited for it. I'm doubting its rumor status.... since this was an "announcement" of sorts, and I've not seen, or heard, James ever "rumor."

Very good. I'm definitely interested!

I'm more than interested - I'm ecstatic!

Although in all truth it is a very ambitious program - hopefully it will all get done.

still, even if two books (let alone 23) I'll be happy.

Super-Sweet!
If JM gets swamped, maybe some of us C&C authors could volunteer to help?

I would for one volunteer - although I don't think I qualify as an "author" just yet, just a setting enthusiast.

I'm eager to hear the Trolls' official take on this. Guess it'll have to wait til after GenCon *sigh*

BTW, I mentioned the news over on ENworld. It's been getting some interest, although there's a bit of "Oh, it's not 3.5? Then I'm not interested" in the thread. (http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?p ... ost3002267)

I am SERIOUSLY hoping these works see print.

Not even a robbery at gunpoint could get me to throw my money out quicker.

You know, I originally thought EN meant "edition neutral" but then I learned it was based on the creator's name. Oh well. The place has changed since I first went there....now, I only lurk, and only if someone posts a link to something of interest.

Do what I do, watch the Food network and think "Full thoughts". It's amazing how many more gaming supplies you can afford when those pesky grocery bills go away.

I only post there to defend C&C or AD&D, so I'm sure 98% of the people there hate me.

That said, it wasn't always like that. When Eric ran it, it was a cool place to hang out and there are still a few friendly faces there, they are just few and far between.

This is really wonderful news! I think it will greatly boost both JG and C&C. The Wilderlands and C&C are natural partners!

If I ever manage to run a C&C tabletop campaign again, I almost certainly will set it in the Wilderlands.

I think it's funny some of the "it's not d20," "oh it's C&C, oh well...." comments over at enworld...

Most of whom don't even seem to realize C&C is an OGL/SRD d20 base system....

Then of course some complain "well I only have so much money..." - interesting, $120 pre-orders of Ptolus and $25 on amazon gets both core books?

Some even claim "oh C&C is just Basic D&D..." - hmm, haven't read it have they?

So what is it? All I can think of is that too many people think you HAVE to have a d20 logo or WOTC "D&D" logo to be "real" (and as we have seen, the "d20" marker does not mean quality).

I keep posting just to try and keep it honest over there.

I've told them "turn back from the ways of the Dark Side." Hope I don't piss anyone off... well, maybe a little.
