Actually, it was just good timing on my part. The books I was getting rid of, I just sent off to NKG for credit and I got an e-mail from them today saying they got my stuff and gave me my credit. So, I was picking up some C&C stuff I was missing (and finally broke down and ordered the leatherette cover books). I knew NKG was getting their GG mods in today as well so I checked while I was in the middle of shopping and they were putting them up while I was filling my cart full of TLG goodies.

Its a good day tater.

Old School Indeed!

Guys, thanks for the interest in these DCC conversions. I've enjoyed working on them for Joseph & Company. It does my heart good to see how well they're received by many of the C&C community here.

I just want them because there aren't many low level modules worth owning, and every game I play these days starts at level 1, so... well, I think you see the point. Gets boring looking at the same stuff. :)

I got mine! Looking forward to getting them in the mail. Thanks for the reminder, DangerDwarf.

By the way, what is Points of Light?

Two things:

Points of Light is a product released by Goodman Games written by Rob Conley (if you're into Wilderlands, you've probably heard that name somewhere...) which appears to be a bunch of adventure locations.

It is also the "theme" for the 4th edition settings -- that is, after the world went into chaos, these bastions of hope sprang up all over the place, as "points of light" in the "world surrounded by darkness." Me, I find it a little 80s speech-esque and uninteresting.

So, that said -- I did get the mass email saying they'd been posted. Just got an email this morning saying the modules had been shipped. Yay.

So anyone who has Points of Light, how is that product? That was the product I neglected to purchase at the Goodman booth this year (simply because I forgot it was out there).

Here are the two reviews of I know of.
http://grognardia.blogspot.com/2008/08/ ... light.html
http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=11620

In the closing minutes of the podcast "All Games considered' they mention that the next one may have a review of Points of Light.

One of the RPG.net regular reviewers mentioned that he will be reviewing Points of Light after PC Pearls.

Then there is the preview here
http://www.goodman-games.com/downloads/ ... review.pdf

Of course I am willing to answer any questions.

I will say I among the things I had in front of me while writing up the various lands. I had both the 1st edition AD&D Monster Manual, and C&C Monsters & Treasures open. I wasn't using them for stats but reading the various flavor text to make sure I had the feel of the various creatures correct.

The preview for Points of Lights helped sell it for me. It looks very nicely put together and I can't wait to get this one. The fact that it happens to be shipping with the two latest Goodman Games 1st Edition modules and an old Judges Guild module will make this one package hard to be patient for!

Doh. I forgot all about POints of Light when I made my order. I'll have to pick it up when NKG gets CZ: Upperworks in stock.

Got my two ordered yesterday as soon as I saw they were available. Saga of the Rat King should be interesting and fun as 1st Edition mods.
