Breakdaddy, I've been laughing my @$$ off for minutes at your conversion of Rhuvein's Goldfish. And you betta' RECANIZE 'cuz you're 'bout to BELEE DAT!
As for the new covers, and layout I'm really looking forward to them. I have liked each incarnation of the books, and I think that the new covers will really go a long way to sell more copies anyways.

Thats ok, chieftain, I like em as well. I will admit, however, that I've spoken with more people that dislike them than like them.

I find the glossy pages hold up better to flipping quickly, and are less prone to page curl. Also, they don't tend to stain as readily when eating the mandatory Doritos. Still... not really a fan of them. Makes the book look and feel more like a hardcover magazine, like something I'd check out at the library from the reference section and then have to give back. Yuck!

In a surprise move, TLG has decided to drop Peter Bradley from the payroll and use yours truly as the new cover artist. So, I give you, the new PH cover:

I'll be happy to have the CKG matching the present incarnation of the M&T and PHB ... with glossy pages.

Of course, I'd be more than happy to drop some cash on a COMPENDIUM edition combining the PHB and M&T!

Ugh, please let's hope not.

Though that awesome cover might be nice for the uber-rare Castles & Crusades, children's version. I'd buy that.

I thought the yellow covers were good but not great. I wouldn't mind new ones as long as they are tastefully done.

I just hope the Upper Works boxed set isn't a preview of what the new covers will look like (I would have much preferred a silvery cover more like Yggsburgh for Upper Works but that's just me).

Maybe something like the Towers of Adventure boxed set would be good...

So when do we get to see a sneak peak?

Well now I like the UW cover. That orange just POPS baby!!! The sane option would be to have Peter work up at least five or six different layouts and then put them up on Lulu for us to choose at our own discretion. I'm open to a wide range of colors, but that yellow man! Of course it isn't going to stop me from playing C&C at all. Someone at one point mentioned that one of their friends' gripes about C&C was the color of the books. How racist!

I said it before and I'll say it again. The current look kicks ass. Peter, my hat is off to you. The "ancient parchment style" golden covered books really stands out amongst the rest. I really think it's awsome in conception and design. Screw you other guys!

The greatest colours in combo are...

Red, black, gold and white...

SPQR!
I can imagine how imperial and classy those colours would look in the redesign.

My company recently changed theirs to this and then the other management staff looked at me like I had 5 heads when I asked if the site diretor should be refered to as Ceaser from that point on...

What a bunch of plebes...

If they change the color, I'll definitely have to overreact with cries across the internet of, "They're killing C&C!"

Or at least grumble about it to my wife.

I like the creme colors on the cover. I like the map superimposed on the cover. I like the simple artwork inside, and the fact that it's all B&W on the inside.
I won't say that C&C is perfect, but I really like the simple look.

I liked the font size for 1st printing better than 2nd or 3rd printing, but I'm half blind and do a lot better with larger font size.
I guess I'll have to reserve final judgement until I see a sample of the new look...

Yup, the simple look is part of what makes C&C so...C&C.

It's like the system, simple yet elegant.
