Dude. You gotta be more creative than just scanning in the front cover.

I must admit I love that they avoided the anime influenced fantasy of giant sowrds and ridiculous armours. It is nice to see a European fantasy game look... well... European

Well... I was going to include a pin up drawing of a girl hiding behind a broad bladed sword... title "Where's my sheath?" But Steve wouldn't go for it.

Whoa! Let me just state that my only beef with the PHB and M&T is the COLOR scheme for the covers. I love the interior art, layout, use of black-and-white and everything else. I think that Peter's art is awesome and the overall feel of the books is perfect as they are not cluttered like the 3.X books were. However I stick by my initial gripe: the yellow blows. Thank you, that is all.

The only thing that might use an update is the prime castles & crusades logo, maybe to the look of the troll lords logo. Not since the 1st forgotten realms have I like a logo as much as the TL logo.

I agree. The TLG logo rocks!

Kidding aside (and despite the zing, let me reiterate that I do love the work that's gone into LL anf MF - it's just that outside of the special edition version their cover art takes the cheesy retro concept just a bit too far), I'm in the "like the current covers" camp.

Still, I trust the guys to give us a nice new look. Every stage of C&C development has (IMHO) improved upon the previous. So look out, world, here comes the best looking C&C yet.

As long as there are no glossy pages, that is

Ya, the glossy thing was a printer mistake. I've been advocating a smooth finish, like a white laser paper myself. Shows up text and art a lot better.

I'll second this idea. It seems a good mid-point between the glossy of 3rd printing and the plain paper of 1st printing.

For my 2 coppers, I really like the gold/cream colored covers, with the map and all.

I also really like the interior layout, fonts, and b&w art.

I agree with the earlier post, that the simplicity of the layout elegantly mirrors the simplicity of the SIEGE engine.

Yeah, well, I've actually gamed with a guy that was very much like that in appearance. And, I have few, if any, artistic talents, especially concerning that of drawing (with Pain, no less) so, I take full pleasure in knowing I am horrible at it. :)

Haha, well done.

LeeRoy will fly right at the troll using his choppers to eat his way through him and save the adventurers from harm. He will then chew the orc's snout right off and then eat his face. Spider and centipede for desert.

"LEEEEEROOOOOYYYYY!"

All hail LeeRoy the flying goldfish!!

In all seriousness though. I rather like the PHB look.

Its the dreaded Pink Centipede! Not only does its bite paralyze you forever, it turns you into a standing flower bed.

My drawings are so bad, they would be kept off the board by a filter.
I gamed with a few guys that looked like that, too, serl -- by age 13!
