2nd printing changes?

Post by JoetheLawyer »

hi all. just wondering, i am going to pick up the C&C core 2 books tonight. they are both first printing. i know second printing is out. is there an updated errate sheet somewhere which has the changes so i dont feel like i am missing something? i know there is an errate sheet on the main trolllord site, but does it have all the changes from 1st to 2nd printing? it says it is regularly updated but does not have the last date of update.

thx

joe

There's actually a third printing out, squire.

See here for errata listings

Errata aside, given how the text is set up in the 1st print version of the PHB, my suggestion is to try and get the 2nd printing of the PHB at the very least.

To be sure, check out the product number on the spine: If it is TLG8010 then it is the 1st printing of the PHB. TLG80102 is for the 2nd print and TLG80103 is for the 3rd print.

I recommend the 2nd Print over the others. It is the spiffiest.

I'm going to suggest the 4th print, which, hopefully, should be announced soon. ;) *hope, hope*

Hmm, I'd say the 3rd printing is the Shazbot. Hands down.

Or would be if I couldn't read through the pages.

It is good for building anticipation though:
Oh man! I gotta hurry up and finish this page, the picture on the page behind this one looks sweet! I gotta see it!

wow, i didnt know there was a 3rd edition. between the editions, the content is the same right? other than errata? no big changes? i'd like to get these tonight if i can. i am going to call and check on the editions in stock. but worse case scenario, and they are 1st edition, then the changes i would have to use the errate for are minor typos and add a few lines here, a few lines there kinda stuff right?

what was someone alluding to in regards to a bad format in 1st printing as opposed to 2nd? is it that bad as to make it not worth getting?

thx all.

Editions are no more then printings. The bible paper DD is speaking of is not quite how it is.

There are some slight changes between printings though, mostly errata and the like.

Lets make it clear printing, not edition. Prrrrriiintiiiiing. The two words are completely different in meaning and context. Edition implies a different game, which it isnt. ^_^

The layout of the first printing was refined considerably in the second printing, and fine tuned a bit more in the third.

thx for all the info. was the layout of the printings changed considerably in both the phb and the m&t? or just the phb? looks like the store has the phb 3rd and the m&t 1st printings.

That'll do ya.

Wasn't a huge change in format from 1st to 2nd print of M&T like there was with the PHB

Please note that while there are 3 different printings of the PHB, the M&T only has 2 printings.

That's cause there wasn't a whole lot that needed "fixing" in M&T. ;) Heh. Or, that's what I like to tell myself.

There are two significant changes between the 2nd print PHB and 3rd print PHB -- poison rules (and costs) given for the assassin class and encumbrance. Arguably, the second thing was errata -- the first was a redesign.

Sounds good.
