When the Going Gets Tough

Post by DangerDwarf »

As some of you know, I'm a lieutenant at a rather large prison. Well, the decision was made on Friday, that with hurricane Gustav incoming and the widely varied projections about where it would hit, that various prisons along the coast would be evacuated.

My unit was one of the units receiving these evacuee inmates. So, I've spent the weekend in the unbelievably millions of things that go along with such a monumental task. (Wow it takes a lot of coordination).

I have got to say, I was impressed. I've got alot of people working for me and me and them worked our asses off. From the levels above me to the officers who work for me, we handled the fug up this weekend. Simply put, we kicked ass.

My agency impressed me with how quick we were able to mobilize, coordinate and just do what we had to do to make it happen.

Sure, it looks like we're in the clear now, but hell, I'm glad we did what we did.

It makes you feel good to see everyone tighten their bootlaces and just get it done.

Now excuse me while I go soak my feet. The are frickin worn raw and I've still got a lot to do this week.

Yep, I'm tootin our own horn here.

As long as you haven't been blown away there, squire. Good luck, and the same to anyone else in the path of this mess.

Good work man!

(Just make sure you keep the doors locked - paperwork and coordinating can sometimes distract us from the important stuff)

To reflect what others have already said, great job! To do a job of that caliber, which I'm sure is more difficult than it sounds, you should be proud!

Its important to have a team that can work together when you have to go into crisis overdrive. Good job to everyone involved.

Looks like with Ike on the horizon, we're fixing to be in for Round 2.

Right now its not looking like we'll skate by with a miss like we did for the last one. Looks like another long week is in the making.

Its a good thing they don't, Texas leads the nation for releasing the most innocent people out of death row. Over 70 for the state last I read, almost 30 in one county alone.

Anyways, good luck to you and your people DD, I hope you all get through it safe and sound.
