If you still have a copy, TSR's old Dungeon! board game is pretty fun too, especially if you have some players who you think would like RPGs if they'd only give them a chance... We've slowly introduced a couple of people to role-playing with this game!
I second the vote for Lunch Money... That's a hoot too, if you all start "talking smack" to each other as you play your cards. Tons of fun.

Uh-oh. Using Dungeon to recruit people to D&D. It sounds like what happened to me in the 1980's. A friend hooked me on D&D back in 82, but was secretly using the game as a recruitment tool. After a few game sessions, I found myself attending occult meetings, standing on pentagram-covered floors, and drinking blood. I later used mind-control spells to get my mother to buy me $200 worth of game books. Unfortunately, one of my gamer friends committed suicide when her character died. Wait a minute! This sounds like the story from Jack Chick's Dark Dungeon. Coincidence? Or, the fact that my old church used to have some copies in a wooden rack. As for Heroscape, I only played the basic game. Wasn't really feeling it. Maybe the advanced game is better. Either way, I have a near complete collection of all the mini's to use with rpg's.

Axis and Allies, Risk, Pictionary......all fun games.
College days saw a lot of Axis and Allies games into the late hours. One buddy of ours got so pissed he knocked the board off the table....
we still chide him about it though it happened ten years ago.

Two games we love to play in an hour or less are:
Giza by Fun Factory (www.funfactorygames.biz). 2-5 players and a game of this can be wrapped up in 10-15 minutes, so multiple games with a final score at the end is great.
Raj by Winning Moves is another game that can be played in 10-15 minutes for 2-5 players. Multiple games and an overarching score makes this one easy for short periods as well.
Both are great fun.

In the words of my good friend Trevor, "Hey, put an arrow in that flying mummy! What could possibly happen?"
Have you tried mancala?
