No, not Gygax Games, Green Ronin or wotc. But by a local Arkansas company out of Bensonville. Im not familiar with them but some of you may know them ~ Wal-something.

The new C&C division will be headed by some guy named Kim.

Davis and Steve Chenault will be retained as models for the apparel division (mens underwear).

A spokesperson down in Little Rock, one William Jefferson Clinton has released this report (que up Dock Boggs in the background),

Hilary and I look forward to this new venture from Wal-Mart. As yall know Im a huge fan of role playing. I did some of my best work when I was in the White House! Many of you remember me as a Lawful-Good Paladin when serving as the President of our great country. I have survived and prospered over such nefarious personages as New Gingrich, Henry Hyde and the hideous chaotic evil warlock, Ken Starr!

I hope yall join me in congratulations to the Trolls and their new masters - some guy named Kim and our friends, the Wizards of the South, Wal-Mart! I hope to see all of you role players enjoying Castles & Crusades at the William Clinton Memorial Library. Refreshments will be served down in the dungeon level. May the force of Gygax be with you, always!

I dont know about you guys, but Im a bit perturbed. I never thought the Trolls would sell out!!

Well, I'd certainly rather be golfing, but someone has to ferret out the news.

Here's the latest . .

It's being reported that long time Wal-Mart employees, breakdaddy and Hudson had infiltrated TLG and help engineer the buyout!!

Doh! Political Thread!!!!!

The hammer is coming, Rhu! Watch it!

Honestly, I think if TLG were purchased by a corporation, it wouldn't be Wal-Mart. It'd probably be Philip Morris.

Then we could get little smoke packs in our box sets like they had in the old sea rats.

Sweet.

Best buyout ever.

What this thread needs is someone who takes it for real and posts a four page rant.

I started writing one before I realized it was a joke.

Was TLG bought out by a chain of strip clubs? Because if it was that would be swanky.

I just about shat my britches.

I have made a personal decision not to support the corporate gaming companies and here you are mentioning my most hated corporation.

Your subject line had me going for a minute. *whew* I didn't need more bad news. A local comic book store owner sold his business to somebody else after 12 years. He was a wonderful guy, and I hated to see him go. Thanks for the laugh, but I nearly had a heart attack until I read the first line or two of your post.

Heh, sorry guys.

With all the craziness in the RPG world (and recent announcements and speculation) coupled with the insanity going on in the corporate world with regard to the economy - my brain went haywire for a bit.

[Actually, it was that excellent Dock Boggs music that began the rapid firing of synapses in my grey matter ~ well oiled by alcohol and phase of the moon. ]

That's ok...I'll grab his feet if someone else grabs his arms.

We can string him up from the tallest tree in town.

Honestly, I do not see why these types of posts gather any sort of "scare factor." It was not Peter, Steve, Mac, Davis, Todd, or, in theory, myself posting such a statement... yet some feel it would come through a third party? Albeit, Rhuvein is a stalwart member of these boards, that does not make him a "spokesperson" with the inside scoop.

Guess I'm just thickheaded. But, the moment I saw the post I thought "where's the punchline? Oh, there it is."

I've been left before and it was an unwelcome feeling, stranded, abandoned, alone. I swore to never be left again. Though, I have often been tempted to break this most sacred vow.

So, yes. I am right. Always.

Actually this might not be a bad thing. I could get my rpg fix while waiting in line to buy foot creme, the latest Ernest goes somewhere DVD, and spandex hot pants with the word juicy written across the ass.

Yes, family shopping at it's finest.

The family that RPGs (and shops) together . . . stays together!
