The immersion and utter detail of the setting is amazing too. I prefer Oblivion's genre over Fallout's, but Fallout does what is does so well. It was a bonus that the game controls were so close to Oblivion that learning the controls was a snap.
So does it follow the same, "if you can see it, you can explore it" kind of philosophy that Oblivion has where you can explore just about anywhere?
I have the same feeling you do, DD, about the genre. But I'm never opposed to playing a good, immersive rpg, regardless of genre.
