My goblins and their loot.

Post by Lord Dynel »

Just thought I'd share a picture of the post-Halloween spoils. They brought in a haul that made their old man proud.
The one on the left, Cameron, was a ghost this year, and Joe (on the right) was Spider-Man.

Good times.

Unfortunately, my kids don't share my dislike of Star Wars.

And it seems Vader traded out his lightsaber for an evil broadsword.

My boy went as Batman (The Dark Knight). Bad news... my daughter is getting married today and we had to go to the rehearsal last night. So my son, who is acting as the Father of the Bride (he is 'giving her away' on behalf of the entire family) walks down the aisle in full Batman get-up and asks for candy as he passes people in the pews. I made him aware that he could not do that during the real ceremony.

We took my soon-to-be-one-year-old son over to his cousins' houses nearby to check out their costumes. At the second and final stop we hung out for a little bit with my brother-in-law while he handed out candy. Watching the really young kids was so funny, because they just say the funniest, or at least funniest sounding, things. It also made me remember how I felt when I had my costume on as a child. I wasn't dressed like Yoda or Darth Vader, I WAS Yoda or Darth Vader. You could see it in the faces of all the little Batmans, pirates, and this one kid who had the coolest Dark Cultist-like costume complete with a bizzare medallion. We'll probably take my son on his first excursion next year and I'm pretty sure that I'm now more jazzed to wear MY costume than he probably will be. I guess that you really do get to relive your childhood through your children. I just hope that he's not cool. That would be a bummer.
