The Winter Dark

Post by Rigon »

Well, old Unklar has reared his horned head in my neck of the woods. We when from green grass to just under 14 inches of snow in 12 hours. Looks like I need to break out my trusty blade and good banish me a god.

Luckily for us the wind is blowing from west to east. If it was the other way around, we would be getting hit!

It's cold and windy, with flurries in the air. But no accumulation, as of yet.

For ease of tracking, the weather in my campaigns always follows (assuming its the same climate are, naturally) the weather outside. There are going to be some cold sessions coming up...

There are flurries now and then, and a slight tinge of white on the ground, but, I blame the lake (Erie) for not giving me more snow, as I live almost on top of it -- lake effect jumps right over me and dumps everything around... bastards.

So I shouldn't mention its still getting into the high 70's around here?

IF it helps it is setting record high temps for around here.

Still, I have yet to see more than 3 inches of snow around here, and the longest I have seen snow stay is 6 days.

I've seen some snow a couple of weeks ago but it's long gone. There's an apparent snow threat tonight here in Montreal.

We had an inch of snow this morning when I woke up. And it's been heavy flurries all day.

49 degrees and cloudy here. Rained cats and dogs the last two days. A nice chilly 50 degree rain.

We had a break in the rain for some sunshine this morning...but it's back to pouring again. durn it. and we have the hwy closed north of town due to a car hitting a power pole...and as they were starting to get that cleaned up a chip truck (sawdust hauler) took out two more poles. OI!

After teasing us with flurries yesterday, it's settled down to just being freakin' cold here along the shores of the Chesapeake. But looking north into the sky yesterday afternoon I'd have sworn a blizzard was bearing down on us - the clouds were low, dark and heavy and the north wind bitterly cold.

I'm Rigon's boat here in the Land of Cleve. Lots of snow in a short amount of time. Boo.

Just cold here. We usually don't get the nasty stuff until late December but there have been surprises.

Sunshine and mid-50s here right now. Wonder if we'll have another one of those 80 degree January weeks....

Well, today wasn't so bad. Mainly just flurries with only about an inch or so of new snow. The bonus this morning was when I was getting ready to go out and shovel, a guy came to my door and offered to plow my driveway for $5. I figured what the hell, he was already out there so I forked over my finif and went back to watching tv.
