That is quite impressive.

Work nearly $10,000? I don't know about that.

Would I like to have one of those? Sure thing. I wonder how hard it would be to make one of those.

with the techniques they say they've used Lord Dynel...I'd say 2-3 months of work in a do-it-youself shop after tracking down a couple specialty tools.

I liked the table that had the tubing through it so you could roll messages to each station and back.

They demo'd this table at GenCon. It was quite impressive. The cost is all involved in teh materials, and shipping. They assemble it where you are (in the continental USA and canada).

Very nice. but for $10,000, I would also expect a couple of halflings who would fetch my dice after I have thrown them.

That and a saucy bar wench.

Scratch that, I can get one of those easily enough.

I would still have preferred the table I almost won on eBay about two years ago and was up in Phoenix.

As for this table I would rather use the 10 grand to buy the power tools and supplies and build the table myself.

That is an impressive bit of woodworking. And a lot of cool features that I'm making note of for when I eventually build a custom table for my game room. (Helps to have a dad who's a serious woodworker.)

Hey, I remember seeing that table. Was that the one that was in Dragon Magazine?

But, yeah, that's crazy. It's an awesome table, I'll readily admit, but I could probably build something less fancy but as serviceable for far less, I'd guess.

I once envisioned a game table that has small screens in the surface with a keyboard under the surface at each seat. With the right program, the GM could send messages back and forth to players. I thought about adding capability to allow players to message back and forth, but I think that might get abused in the wrong scenario.

Doing the text message screen would be rather easy and cheap these days. You could use recycled computer parts since you'd not really need a lot of capacity.

It would also be really easy to build your own version with the tubes. Once I have a game room again, something like that is on my project list.

I remembered this one too, and found the builder's site:
http://www.agyris.net/v3/ugt/default.asp

I think I lean more towards the overall design of the Sultan than the Agyris gent's table, but the latter has some interesting features beyond the message system.

I'm still a fan of this one. Hell the whole room rawks and rawks hard.

Saw this at Gen Con. Too rich for my blood, but gave me ideas for when I build my own.

Yep, that Avenger table is my favorite as well. You can buy the directions from those guys and make it yourself. I'd love to do that if I had time.

I managed to piece together a very practical, but not pretty, table myself. I ran through how I did it on my defunct blog:
http://dungeoneeringdad.googlepages.com/home

I never got around to explaining the playing surface, but I took a huge piece of shower board (which you can get at Home Depot for about $11) and scored it with a grid. Works great. Take a look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/-frost-/566032206/
