Which one most appeals to you...if any?
Bonus Question: Why doesn't A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving get any love?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Both. Because on this day of all others I must injest the most amount of calories possible. And, because both are delicious.

Turkey. What else did you expect from a New England resident?

Vegetarian here, so it's Tofurkey for us.
And as many yams as I can fit in my stomach.

Yessss. I'd rather have a turduckham than a turducken!

Wrap that all up in bacon and deep fry it. God I'm hungry now.

This year, because I work on both Thursday and Friday, there will be no Thanksgiving dinner -- we're just going to have leftovers.

We don't do holidays anymore. Overly commercialized silliness highlighted by family in-fighting. Not worth the nightmare or the clean up.
Then again...I am a bit on the cynical side.

A few thoughts flashed through the brain here. But they were really taking a nose dive into gutter territory.

We have Turkey. It was turkey times two, but I had to put a stop to that. I was going over to my parents and my mother-in-law's house, but we decided this year that we'll only be going to my mother-in-law's. My parents have my single older brother, my sister and her beau and their child to cook for plus themselves. My wife's mom is a widow and they there's only my wife's sister. Plus my parent's house is way too crowded - we were eating Thanksgiving dinner on a card table in the living room and my wife was not too keen on that.
Now come Christmas, it's turkey and ham time. We host Xmas dinner, so we'll have both sides - perfect excuse for a ham!

Well considering swine is off-limits for me, put me down for turkey.

I come from a large family, so the card table in the livingroom was the norm until I was old enough to sit at the "adult" table. Nothing says Thanksgiving like a card table in the livingroom.
Now that I'm all growed up, we host - and actually have enough table real estate - so no card tables this year. We do relegate the kids to the kitchen though.
Anyway, I'm cooking a 22lbs. turkey. Save the ham for Christmas.

Indeed. I remember eating Thanksgiving at a variety of locations as a kid - the living room, the bar, out on the screened porch (in Florida). But I guess since my wife and I are both adults, and we feel pretty segregated - we come over to visit with family as well as eating - we decided that it wasn't a spectacular idea to visit this year. My house for Xmas, though, has more than enough room for everyone.
And they'll be ham

We aren't doing the whole bird this year, just a boneless breast. Nobody in my family likes the dark meat, so why bother?

you have to cook the turkey upside down and in a roasting bag. Also, fill the bird with a cheap beer for stuffing (I have found the more cheaper the beer, the better to cook with.) This will allow all the juices from the dark meat to go into the white meat and the dark meat will not taste so greasy.

We will be going to the Fox Hills resort just north of here in Wisconsin for a large Thanksgiving day buffet the resort throws....
So I can have both + more!

Sewer rats may taste like pumpkin pie...
Sorry
Lacking any of my own family here in Texas, I always spend Thanksgiving with my GF's extended family. Last year was a redneck extravaganza of deceased animals: Turducken, gator, frog legs, venison, quail, gumbo, oyster stuffing AND ham.
It was like a slasher movie on Noah's ark.

The family and I decided to give the turkey and the ham the day off, so we're having chicken instead.

Turkey only this year. The only family we are dealing with is the family that lives under my roof.
Like my youngest says, "Holidays are to be happy!" So no family drama with anyone else.

That's not a bad idea.
