Hit the motherlode at my FLGS today

Post by Lord Dynel »

On a lark, I decided to hit my local FLGS today. I hadn't been there in two weeks and needed to pick up my comics. I got there, and to my suprise, there was a massive sale - up to 75% off of backstock and 25% off on everything except new releases. I glanced at the not-new product and nothing looked too great. But I noticed that there were a lot more backstock boxes out. Apparently, there were loads of stuff in the back room that had been in the back room for years. I set out on the daunting task of going through about 20 magazine-style boxes. When the smoke cleared, this is what I cam up with:

Original Kingdoms of Kalamar box set

Harn Melderyn Kingdom Module

Harn Orbaal Kingdom Module

Harn Menglana Kingdom Module

Harn Lythia Continent Module

Harn Tharda Rebulic Module

Harn Chysiba Kingdom Module

Harnworld Azadmere Dwarven Kingdom

Harnworld Shorkyne Regional Expansion Module

Gladestrom (a 2nd Ed. AD&D compatible module)

The Fantasy Gamer's Compendium (circa 1983, Gamescience)

Fez II, The Contract (Role Aids, Mayfair Games)

Fez V, Wizard's Betrayal (Role Aids, Mayfair Games)

Fez VI, Wizard's Dilemma (Role Aids, Mayfair Games)

Grand Total: $48

And there were a ton of things I left, too. Plenty of MSHRPG modules, Accessories, and Box Sets. Gangbustes RPG. The full run of fHollow World modules and accessocies (except for the main set, I think they had everything). Three different settings of Traveller (I remember Mega and 2300 for certain). Tons of 2nd and 3rd Ed. GURPS supplements. Too much stuff to remember. It's too bad I didn't have more money to spend, but I think I did alright.

It's times like these when one can feel that the gods of gaming are smiling down upon you. Too bad these things don't happen more often!

You did better than alright, if you were interested in selling but the best thing is the Harn material, which is typically very detailed and well constructed, making them worthwhile on principle. There is a store near me that does this type of thing, too, but they stopped selling the really cool stuff after I bought it all, the bastards.
If I could, I send you back in there to get a list of what they have, so I could then forward you money and say "this, this, this and all of those..."
Congrats on the fortunate find!

Wow. That is the motherlode. And explosion of Harn-goodness right there. Good deal.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

That's a nice haul!!

Just got my Traveller ebay stuff today - the original boxed set, supplements # 1-13, and adventures # 6 & 9. Plenty for me to read for now!

Treebore - Yeah, I have Paypal. What would you like me to do?

Dagger - The name of the store is The Fantasy Factory, in Lakeland. From you it's probably about 1 hour 45 minutes away, maybe less.

I know there is more, Tree, but I'd have to go and get you a list. I know there were a few more Kingdom modules, maybe an adventure, and the HarnPlayer book (which I may go back for a copy, too). Not a ton of stuff, but there were some. I know some of the things I got were the only copy of. I can check for you tomorrow, if you'd like, and get with you. I have some stuff to do around the house (putting up the tree and stuff) but I'll do my best to go over early and get a look and come back and post. what's there.

Sure! Check and see if they have the Aces and Eights leatherbound book for sale as well, if your willing. If you have a cell phone with free minutes I can PM my phone number to you.

I'd like to know if they have any Shadowrun, Warhammer Fantasy Role Play, Arduin, or non-TSR RPGs (hehe, vague.)

I know they have Gangbusters (the last edition), Serl, or they did yesterday. They may have some WFRP, but I'm not 100% sure.

Tree, I'll give you call from the store.

Update: As far as non-TSR they really didn't have too many, or what I could find. They have pieces of just about everything, but not much in the way of "core" rules for anything. I saw Macho Women with Guns and The Lawnmower Man RPG core books. i know you said "non-TSR" but Gangbusters was still there. Nothing in the way of Shadowrun, Arduin, orWHFRP. They had a whole run of Dangerous Journeys yesterday, but I didn't see it today - a lot of the stuff had been picked through. Still had the 1989 and 1992 character updates for MSHRPG. That's about all I could think of off the top of my head. I admit that I was in a hurry today, as I was going without the blessing of the missus.
