It really is a fantastic deal... just wished I wanted something from Palladium at the moment.

I might go for a bag...
The only Palladium stuff I have are the weapon books... I've played Rifts before had fun once the character creation process was done. GOD ... I hated creating a character for that (and other associated Palladium games).

I might take them up on the deal - a Heroes Unlimited package for $35 is a good buy. And if they sign the books as well - awesome!

I convinced my wife to get me a grab bag for Christmas. I chose to focus on Heroes Unlimited stuff, so hopefully I get some nice things. I haven't played that in a while and it'd be nice to have some new inspiration.
They also autograph stuff for no extra charge, so that should be cool.

That's probably what I would do, Fiff. Had HU once upon a time. It looked pretty cool, but I remember, like all Palladium games, character creation was...involved.
Still, I wouldn't mind trying for a HU-themed grab bag myself.

I had forgotten about these grab-bags. I thought that they weren't going to have any more ever since that whole money-dealy. Truly a Christmas miracle! God bless us, every one!

I'm probably going to get one in the next day or two and pick up the Shadow Chronicles hardback and the Macross Saga book. BTW, the artwork for the new Masters War book looks FANTASTIC!

Agreed. It's fairly complicated.
Not as complicated as some other systems, to be sure. There is a lot of page turning involved, though. I remember char-gen as a fun process, not a chore, but naturally others may disagree. By contrast, I saw 3E's process as a chore requiring software to make it palatable.
For a hero game with guns and complicated power combinations, I'm ok with a little complexity in the rules. It seems to fit better.

True, true. Any system that adds more "elements" (such as magic, guns, superpowers, technological constructs, and the like) is bound to be more complex. I remember making characters for HU being a bit on the intensive side, but maybe it's my skewed memory - it has been 15 years or so. But maybe with maturity (okay, that's stretching it a bit) comes a better understanding of such things - I, for example, never thought 3e character creation was terribly difficult (maybe a little time consuming, but not difficult).
I think I'm going to pull the trigger and get a HU themed grab bag, probably this weekend (Friday or Saturday)

Gah I just picked up Dead Reign. I wonder if I could have gotten that as part of the deal.
I beleive you could have. Dead Reign is one of Pally's best books to date, and maybe the best Zombie RPG ever. Even if you don;t like the Palladium system, the writers has put forth a very strong setting and detailed system for all things zombie.

All signed by 8 people, including Kevin. I haven't identified all 8 yet.
All in all I'm extremely pleased.

Which Swimsuit Issue? As far as I know, there have been three of them.
I believe it's the most recent. I don't recall the number, offhand. The deliciousness holding katanas is on the front. Quite an illustration.
