Idea for a board game

Post by Julian Grimm »

This is for everyone but a select few may find it a great idea. The board is a convention floor with booths all around. You are setting up your booth but noticed you lack certain things to finish the job. The goal is stealing set up material from other booths to complete your booth before the convention opens.

You can use various tricks and traps as well as work together to blindside other booth owners. Items that can be stolen are racks, screws, tools and duct tape. You can use certain cards to affect play and screw the competition.

Thoughts?

Davis would win, every time.

This is a game? This is what I do all the time.
At Egyptian Campaign, occasionally there can be a shortage of tables. Sometimes I have to take matters into my own hands.

Sadly, the more I think about this the more I think I'd like to play it. I may even take a crack at designing it.

I think I'm liking this idea/game as well.

Tricks and traps would be great and the players may either be spell casters or have the ability to produce some spell type resulst of said abilities . . stinking cloud for instance. There are probably several others.

They could also unleash vermin against each other, produce darkness or bright lights, etc.

A little brainstorming could bring loads of ideas.

Go for it, Julian.

I call dibs on making the cardstock convention hall, including a paper miniature of Davis skulking off with a roll of duct tape.

Lemme brainstorm some. I've never done a board game before.

So i have had a couple ideas about what cards there will be for distractions:

Chili Fries: When used the character is allowed three 'gaseous clouds' of a seriously stinky nature. This can distract all in a one square radius of the user. However on a roll of one the user has a serious 'accident' and must retreat to the bathrooms for three turns.

Booth Babe Wardrobe Malfunction: Those chainmail bikini's just aren't what the used to be. The users booth babe has lost her top and cause all around her to stare in wonder.

And here is an idea for a player piece:

The Arteest: This guy can distract booth babes by offers of better fame by being a model for his next job. However, on a roll of one the Arteest tries to get the models number and woo her. This causes him to loose his next turn.

And for hirelings:

Fanbois: This mob does anything the employer asks for recognition to the owners of the company.

Grog-StormTrooper: These guys are so convinced that no game tops musty rules written in 1936. By convincing them that an opponents company hates the 'one true way' (tm) of gaming they rush a target booth and scatter any components collected. The GST's may be used once as con security removes them from play.

Rough ideas at best but I am getting a feel for this.

Definitely sounds like something I'd play.
