So you're a Asatruar/Odinist ? Cool I have some books on Asatru & Theodism. I don't practice myself but I have a general interest in the faith.

I am an Asatruar, yes. What books do you have?

I have the eddas translated into English. If you want to read them in story-format, I can recommend The Norse Myths by Kevin Crossley-Holland.

If you want a good rune book, there is one Called Runes by Sirona Knight. It's a 4" by 5" book with over 500 pages. Good little encyclopedia to carry around.

For those of you who aren't Asatruar: I don't get offended by too much stuff; other gamers shouldn't either. If what I have discussed is offensive to you, I apologise; it wan't my intent.

Consider this: you could use these books as game material for your campaigns. There is some great stories in the eddas that have inspired many other authors...

I figured its about time I post here since I fully de-lurked months back.

My name is Dan and Im 32. I grew up near Waukesha, WI until I was 12 or so, and then my family moved to Pittsburgh, PA. I currently live in the suburbs of Pittsburgh and consider myself a Pittsburgher (although I cheer for both the Packers and the Steelers).

After college, I spent two years teaching English in Poland. I met my beautiful wife there. She has no problem with my gaming habit, although she is not a gamer herself. Together we have two beautiful daughters, the eldest soon to be 5 and the youngest is 1.

I work as an Intellectual Property Specialist (sort of an uber-paralegal, I guess) and am listed as an inventor on several patents. Both my wife and I work from home, which is great.

Gaming-wise, I started playing when I was 8 or so. My older brother taught me how to play and Ive played ever since. Heck, I even DMed him at that age from time to time (although I had no clue what I was doing). I started with AD&D and played up through the various editions (sans 4th). I still play D&D 3.5, but have grown very fond of Castles & Crusades. C&C will be my system of choice whenever I launch a new campaign.

I was the editor/proofreader for the second printing of Against the Darkness by Tabletop Adventures: http://www.tabletopadventures.com/Horror/ and was a playtester for Rappan Athuk Reloaded (the Bloodways section by Greg Ragland) and and Tome of Horrors II, both by Necromancer Games.

In our campaign, Andrea is our "gnome master" since she plays and draws them as well as any I've ever seen. It earned her the nickname "gnomie" which is what everyone calls her these days. We also call her that cuz she's only 5 ft., wears silly hats, goes nuts over sweets and "shuffles around" the house. Smile

Hi my name is Jay and I've been a gaming addict since 1984.
Seriously though, I've been playing RPGs since the mid 80s starting with Fighting Fantasy books and the Basic Red Box set. Currently, I'm 35, married and have one 12yo son who also enjoys gaming as a hobby. I live in south Georgia (US), work in IT but as of late been considering a trip back to school to pursue something else, though not sure what.

Always loved D&D, it will always be my favorite all time RPG, but now I need something that can carry on that feel but be in-print and supported not only by a good company but also its fans.

Retros just don't do it for me and 4E is an okay game in and of itself, but it really is a whole different animal. I liken it more to something like GW's Mordheim.

So after doing some soul searching I realized that with the newer printings of C&C coming out (not to mention the plethora of stuff already) everything seemed to exude that old familiar feeling. I have an excellent group of players of various ages, ranging from 15 all the way up to the mid-40s and would like to have them give it a try. So here I sit looking to jump in and see where things go.

Hi all! My name is Vinny and I started gaming in the early 90's with 2nd edition AD&D. I just started back about two years ago with d20. Recently discovered C&C and instantly fell in love with it. I hope to be starting up a game soon. I'm married and have an 11 month old son and a German Shepard. I also enjoy writing and performing music and painting miniatures.

Wow, a lot of new folks lately! Welcome to the Crusade, all. You'll find that this is one of the more friendly, informative and generally flame-free gaming-related forums around.

Just don't mention duct tape around certain people and you'll be just fine.
